This.

But...even worse was Candlebox.

Gotta disagree with The Killers. Don't love them, but they are a good singles band. I can always count on a good Killers song every 2 years.

I'm not a big Counting Crows fan, but 2nd album better than their first.

I dont think its a bad second album but August is pretty tough to beat.

Snoop. Everything after Doggystyle should be called Doggshit volumes 1-10.

Limp Bizkit. 3$Bill was new and had an edge to it. Everything after that was a parody and mockery of that album plus some god awful durst rapping.

These are odd takes.

First, with T Rex, I'm not even sure what you would call the "debut". Is it a John's Children record? Tyrannosaurus Rex? In any case, I'm arguing that their/his best was Electric Warrior, definitely not a debut.

As far as Mott the Hoople is concerned, that's just way off base. The debut record is solid, maybe even near great. The follow-up Mad Shadows, not nearly as good. Wildlife kind of sucks. But Brain Capers is a very interesting record. I mean, come on, just the song titles alone: "Death May Be Your Santa Claus", "The Wheel of the Quivering Meat Conception". But then they got hooked up with Bowie and made Dudes, another near great album which set them up for their true masterpiece, Mott.
