there's really no punishment for this type of stuff, though; there's an outlet for everything now, and no one has to really apologize. back when katie rich made a joke about trump's youngest song, and got "suspended" from Twitter, her punishment was getting job offers from dan harmon and others.

when megyn kelly got fired from NBC, she just got another job at another network.

Earlier this week I applied for an internship. The title is for Culinary/R&D Internship- Minority Emerging Leader, my experience and background would be a pretty good fit especially for a 3 month internship. I'm not sure what the Minority Emerging Leader means as it's not explained in the job description but it would frustrate me if it takes me out of consideration completely. Especially when they put the EEOC blurb at the end.

Minority Emerging Leader is going to be a Person of Color (Minority), Young (Emerging probably under 35), and Outgoing/Motivated (Leader). And yes two of those three probably violate employment law, but internships are generally understood to be for young people and I am not sure the EEOC is overly worried about companies seeking Minority candidates.

He was. He survived several reorgs and was a good employee. We didn't have a lot of money, my parents still don't.

I figured. 2 of those 3 take me out of the running. It's unfortunate that I will be over looked because of my color and age. It would have given me experience in a field I always wanted to be in and had I known 20 years ago it was a job I'd have pursued it then. Sure I'll be fine but I guess I'm feeling maybe I'm not deserving of opportunities or the pursuit of happiness if you will. It's not uncommon in the culinary field to have older candidates though. There are several moms like me, made a bunch of money/changing career, or people that want to open restaurants in the program.

I think I was passed over for one last year due to age. The guy was happy I was trying to better myself and improve my family situation. I laughed my ass off. I almost replied "uh dude this is a vanity project I'm just hoping to succeed"

Indians who affect blackness are pretty funny. I think Hmong kind of do the same thing up north, but at least they almost always occupy an underclass, so it makes a little more sense. I wonder how high-caste she is, too.

I've started watching our local news on TV over the last few months. I had stopped. But I want to hear information on COVID in Illinois since it started.

I swear to god, every day there is a shooting by a black guy in Chicago.

So, yeah, maybe the whites do the majority of mass shootings. But if you add up the individual shootings, black people win in total kills.

One of the, not sure how to describe it - funny? - things about the most recent mass shooting is that everybody jumped to the conclusion that he was white based on the fact that the guy was apprehended alive and not lit up by a SWAT team. That would tend to make you think they are cool with the death penalty, or even justified shootings? Then when a black guy who has raped and murdered 10 people and spent 25 years on death row gets put down by lethal injection it's this big social injustice.
