Seems like the only thing you can pin on him was not challenging the caught stealing, but isn't that more on the upstairs crew to inform him whether to challenge? (I also didn't realize the cutoff is now 20 seconds, but they should know that.)

His passed ball in the 8th was another factor. He’s awful defensively. Not getting a solid defensive backup was stupid.
