So Donald Sterling isn't entitled to privacy because of "a long history of racially questionable [huh?] incidents"?

But let's keep this simple: Should the fact that conversations were originally held in private be factored in when the content of the conversation comes to light?

You can factor it in if you want that it was a private conversation. If you already have a lot of racially questionable incidents then it may not matter.

And what is a "racially questionable incident"?

Let’s apply that to Donald Sterling .

Sterling was in a position of power and what he was saying could have revealed how he dealt professionally with his own organization. The woman was a biznitch for leaking it, no doubt, but Durant was clearly just “clowning” with a peer. The standard is different because the situation was not the same.

So Kevin Durant, one of the richest humans on the planet with a following of literally millions of people, has no power.

"Don't worry, gay people, KD was just clownin' when he used homosexual sex as a way to demean and deride someone! He has no power!"

Completely predictable dimwitted response.

"I've got nothing. You're dumb."

So am I to understand that the generation who has their McDonald's delivered while playing video games is now going to embrace MLB because they moved the All-Star game? Baseball, UberEats and Tesla indeed. Good luck with that Manfred.

If that is your only way to respond then I think the point is clear.

Pick a better example than Donald Sterling on uneven justice by the NBA.

$341,000,000 guaranteed contracts for 21 year olds, hopefully a livelier game won't hurt. Not to mention the truths about football helps as well.

Pick a better example than Donald Sterling on uneven justice by the NBA.

Talking about Donald Sterling is not talking about uneven punishment by the NBA, it is being brought up to show the hypocrisy of people who want to consider the context in which we were made aware of KD's remarks (a leaked DM conversation), but didn't care how we came to find out about Donald Sterling's remarks (the unquestionably worse surreptitiously recorded private conversation).

If you want to discuss uneven treatment of derogatory statements centering on immutable qualities like religion and sexuality, I point you to the fine and suspension of Meyers Leonard.

JLN is shocked that an NBA superstar is treated differently by the league compared to some bench scrub.

Will wonders never cease?

But it's not hypocrisy. Sterling got the same benefit of the doubt because it was a leaked conversation. It just wasn't enough to save him from action. Sterling got a pretty severe punishment but it was basically a lifetime achievement award. If KD had been doing the same thing for decades he would have been dealt with far more severly.

That is why it's a strange thing for you to go to bat for. Sterling got what he deserved.

That's certainly a better one. Stick with that one.

I think the recipe for KD's non-suspension used another ingredient on top of his superstardom, but I'm fine with people being forced to admit that the NBA's wokeness is a sham that it will drop the second a superstar is caught in the crosshairs (or China comes calling).

Does anyone honestly believe that the NBA being "woke" is anything other than a way to appease the next generation of fan?

The same NBA that blackballed 2 Muslim players and banned hip hop gear for players sitting on the bench? The same NBA who prevented players from kneeling until a pandemic?

Way back when Obama believed a marriage was between and man and a woman.

It's too bad that this thread went off of it's humorous tracks after the second post.

I could've kept it on track if I wasn't smoking blunts in front of children.

You really wanna embrace a sport that Ted Turner was willing to kill to win a meaningless trophy?
