I've complained about the bullpen in this thread, but the hitting has been bad..... They kept saying last year that Moncada was dealing with Covid issues. Apparently, he's a "long hauler", because he has looked completely lost. His "best" AB so far might be a dropped third strike that scored 2 runs.

Anyway, small sample size. Try again tonight.

Fuck cheap ass Reinsdorf. They went cheap, and they literally had no margin for error with injuries. With Anderson hurting and Eloy out the lack of depth is showing. Now we are forced to give at bats to Collins, Garcia and a guy who has never been above A ball.

And Grandal still sucks as a catcher, and there is no back-up. Robert is going to set a record for the number of strikeouts in a season if Moncada doesn't get there first.

Grandal is definitely stealing money. Can't catch(literally) and does a decent job of hammering weak sister pitching. But he fouls off more cookies than anybody on the team.

i get the logic of him. He hits lefty, and he gets on base. Things that the team desperately needs, but he's going to blow a playoff game with his shitty defense if they ever get there. This team looks really flawed int it's current form.

Our pitching is improved but I was surprised it held up so well. Hopefully they can keep it up but they need to do something about Heaney. We've wasted enough time on this guy.

Its great to see Walsh pick up where he left off last season. He was putting up historically good numbers when he finally got a chance to play after they shut Pujols down. If Upton and Walsh keep hitting the lineup should be able to compete with anyone. Its going to come down to the starting pitching which has been brutal the last 2 seasons.

It was a fun series. At least the Angels should be watchable this season.
