Kimbrel looks like he's lost a lot of weight. He's looked dominant the last two outings like the old Kimbrel. Maybe being out of shape was hurting his performance the last couple years.

Whatever it takes to keep his ERA ilunder 5.00.

Best things about the series against the Pirates....Arrieta, Kimbrell and KB. Not expecting the Cubs to contend for anything but their division perhaps, but don't want to have to suffer through a losing season and don't expect to have to.

last 3 years they seem to struggle against shit teams especially the Pirates. Down the stretch in 18 and 19 they lost crucial September series' to the Pirates.

But this first series did feel good the last 2 games. They didnt rely on the HR or Nothing approach and seems like they're learning to manufacture runs. I hope it continues.

How are they learning to manufacture runs with 3 hits a game? One of those hits was a..... .HR

I believe they will. But as much as that might be fun, they are nowhere near the Dodgers or Padres in talent and I expect them to make a quick exit from the playoffs, should they make it. But it is always fun to do better than many expect or predict, so I believe this will be a fun summer. We shall see.
