Ok he has one HR this season. Woopie dee doo!
Every time I see him hit its a little fruity weak ass grounder.
Why can't this mope ever square up a goddamn ball?

his suckage has stood out this year since everyone else has sucked at the plate. I have been pretty leaniant to the guy the past 5 years but now when you need one of these assholes to get a hit you think the leader of the team would step up.

his last AB today, the pirates were in the shift and the cubs are down 4 runs. why not bunt to third w/ nobody there and get on base leading off the inning. but nope. weak ass grounder to short for an easy out.

He's got a very stiff swing. Almost looks like he is trying to "push" the bat threw the strike zone.

Might be the worst swing in baseball.

He has a long ass swing with no power, it seems 60% of his contact results in a weak ass grounder to the 2nd baseman or 1st baseman.

One of the worst FA signings in Cub history.

No. He never hits it hard. And he's such a big guy, but plays like a little scrap hitter.

His swing is horrible. Theo thought he could fix it a few years ago. But no. He swings down on the ball in this era of launch angle and the upper cut swing.

I know I've posted this before but he took less money to sign with the Cubs.

It was 200 from the cardinals and 200 from the halos.

Can you believe he turned that down? Who has ever done that?

The players union would not have allowed it.

wasnt he gang busters w/ the braves and cards? then he suddenly went to shit w/ the cubs? I think it was trying to live up to the big contract - seen this happen w/ other players too. barry zito comes to mind.

He played ultra aggressive early with the Braves. He was good, (not hof numbers Mac once said) not great. Hurt his thumb, his numbers declined. Beaned in 2013. Broke his jaw, with plates put in. Appears afraid when he hits. Had good salary year with Cards (of course). His Cubs slash line is well below league average (including pitchers batting). Cubs/Score propaganda machine has propped him up with lies. Now he's a sjw hero. Les once said he's in top 20 all-time Cubs. Not top 300. First year it was all epic bad hitting. Now he gets in 2 week hot streaks where all is well. Always reverts to mechanically flawed swing tied up in knots. Talked to a Cubs media guy lifting a few who said "he can't hit" . One of Theo's biggest failures whose contract has been a huge detriment to the organization. Probably would of been released after the 1st year if he didn't have the team over a barrel. Talks like he hits, always a riddle. I'll never believe the Cards topped the Cubs offer. They must of wanted team out options.

Numbers would be even worse if not for all the handpicked starts against righties.

also remember, Theo signed him to play CF as part of the justification for the contract

Everybody complains about Jason Heyward. But at least he puts the ball in play. He only struck out one time tonight.
-Les Grobstein

Heyward has struck out 30% of his ABs this year.
The Cubs as a team 33%.

Surprisingly Heyward has struck at a lower % with the Cubs than with his other 2 teams.
