Give them a run for their money.

Benetti is a legit, if dorky, professional play by play guy. Given his lifelong Sox fandom I’ll take him any day over Kasper.

I've said it for years, our media says Stone is the greatest. He's not. Yeah, that was a dumb thing to say. It means something. Doesn't mean he won't get a hit. But when you're 3-17, it sure as hell means something.

Stone's maybe looking at it situationally from the pitcher's perspective: tie game, bottom of the 8th on the road. Shaw might own Abreu career but Shaw needs one more out to finish the hold and give his team a shot at taking the lead in the top of the 9th. Elevate your pitching to the situation rather than ease up b/c you're tossing to a guy who's .176 career against you.

Stone is one of the best first-guessers in a broadcast booth.

stone is great at knowing what a pitcher and catcher are thinking in terms of sequences for specific hitters. great insights. But hes falling into the bad Hawk habit of hyperbole for a lot of players that theyre "the best ever at..." or "might be the greatest i've seen at..."

Always heard that they put the SF team above. Ever since Vin Scully retired, the SF team has always been nearly at the top. Kind of like the MLB version of Summerall-Madden. But Len and Steve could give them all a run for the money.
