I got a decent size one for my dresser top. How do I bump up and keep the humidity as they say. I seasoned it. It was at 78% then I put the cigars in and set it up. I am using the gel for the hydrate medium. now it dropped to 57% and I can't get it back up?

It's difficult to keep those table top humidors at proper humidity.

I gave up on them and only use these with one of those gel tubes.

Desktop humidors are notoriously bad in terms of seals. You could try the "dollar bill" test where you close the lid on a dollar bill at various locations and see if you can pull/move the bill without much resistance. If it moves fairly freely, it means there are gaps and the humidor is not air tight. It will never hold a consistent humidity.

If you're ok with function over form, use a tupperware container or cooler (depending on the size of your stash) with boveda packs or silica gel kitty litter. It doesn't look nearly as nice as a humidor, but your cigars will taste/burn/smoke better.
