That sounds like an acquired taste.

To each their own, but that sounded like the most horrifying combination of things you could put into ice cream and still legally sell it.

Jeni either spends too much time watching Chopped or she’s a complete sociopath.

Anybody know a brand that sells prime rib ice cream with horseradish swirl?

I think you are going to have to use your podcast fame to become a judge on Chopped where you have to pretend that it was actually good to make that.

I have long hoped for the mass marketing of a potsticker ice cream.

At a time a few years ago, when I had my jaw wired shut for an extended period of time during The Man's attempt to silence me, I had perfected the warm Kentucky Fried Chicken milkshake.

2 - breaded KFC chicken breasts
1 - Family size Gravy
2 - Biscuits
1 - Family size mashed potatoes

Blend in a Vitamix until smooth. Enjoy!

I've only tried 1 flavor but i really like it- it's buttermilk ice cream with biscuit pieces and peach jam/swirl. I've had it 2-3x and i like it so much its hard for me to try another flavor .

I tried Jeni's again today. Cheesecake ice cream with butter cake, caramel and butterscotch. It was better than I remembered but kind of chalky and definitely not creamy enough.

Noisy's milkshake brings the boys to the yard. It's better than yours.

I tried the head cheese based chocolate with sweet bread crisps yesterday.

On the bright side, I woke up 10lbs lighter today.

Any of yous make ice cream? I'm thinking of getting a machine for my family. Might be fun to do for a bit. I know I can make the base and it would be fun to learn.

I tried the Jeni's peach ice cream and it had that sorta chalky texture TM mentioned. Still OK, but not as good as other offerings.

The keto ice cream that's available tastes pretty good...but it has that chalky texture when it's rock hard. Let it thaw for a bit and it's pretty close to regular ice cream.

Yeah, the cheap ones where you freeze the bowl ahead of time are pretty foolproof with either a custard style or a non-cooked base. We use our Cuisinart occasionally but still find buying from the store easier.

I don't want to freeze the bowl, I want to churn it to get some air in? Store will always be a tick easier, but it's not super difficult and can produce good results. You just have to get it right and figure it out. The base is creme anglaise, you just have to figure ratios and air + ingredients. That's what makes it fun.

You home making ice cream while shirtless plumber is wandering around asking you if your ice box is broken feels like the beginning of the kind of movie that got Mac fired.

The frozen bowl is placed onto a motor that spins it around while a plastic piece scrapes off the ice cream from the sides, churning and introducing air.

yea i have a Cuisinart. It's pretty easy. Unless you overdo it and make scrambled eggs, the base is pretty easy to make. But heavy cream is expensive shit.

I don't really get the chalky complaint re: Jenni's

Although i have noted at least on the 2 different flavors i've had that the calories are slightly lower than other premium brands like B&J, Haagen Daaz, Greaters, etc....those all seem to be in the 1200 range for a pint and Jeni's were 950 or something. I wonder if it's just slightly more airy or maybe has some kind of stabilizers in it ? (i didn't read the ingredient list)

That’s because Dairy Queen isn’t ice cream, it’s ice milk. I still like it but it’s not really comparable.
