Glad to see they are trying Jenkins at LT and getting value out of the pick.

The Bears aren't even waiting to see how Jenkins will perform at LT before cutting Leno. They must really think he sucks.

Borom will be starting at right tackle no later than Game 3.

Cap space issue? Maybe want to do something else and figured that was the lowest hanging fruit to go for.

That seems like a lot of confidence in someone who has not played much LT.

I hope it works out.

If they get a starting LT and RT out of this draft that would be amazing

Jimmy Graham is still employed.

I am shocked by this. It doesn't seem like the recipe for making Jenkins successful.

Is there perhaps an advantage to cutting him after the June 1st date vs now? I'm sure they see him as some sort of safety valve for the QB but he runs and jumps like he he has 10 pounds of concrete on each foot.

He was about as irritating as a player can be. Reliably bad with a habit of stupid penalties. Guessing they think they can get someone as good as Leno from other cuts if Jenkins doesn't work at LT.

Dalton better check on his life insurance.

Pace/Nagy should just man-up and bench him instead of killing the man.

It's definitely a surprise. They do need to trim the payroll for cap purposes, though. I wonder if they'll bring Leno back on a cheaper deal.

Why would you assume that Leno is better than Jenkins?

Is sitting on the bench really that dangerous?

Yeah just plug him in on the right side and leave him there for the next 10 years. He was the best pure right tackle in the draft...good pass blocker but the best run blocking tackle we've seen in some time. His heavy hands and power are unmatched and he's totally unafraid of causing physical harm. He's fun to watch.

I don't. I just liked the joke.

I'm shocked Leno has been the starter for 7 years.

I do expect Jenkins first few games to be on the rough side, though.

With cutting Leno, seems like his first few games will be on the left side.

Leno was overpaid garbage. Any of the OL drafted will probably struggle this year, but it's not like Leno was even average.
Cap casualty, plain and simple.

Alex bars played tackle at Notre Dame.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him there when 2021 kicks off.

Doesn’t matter who’s on the O-line. We just drafted the best qb ever.

I don't see how anyone in the fan base could be disappointed in seeing Leno go.

My guess is that he'll just wait around Halas Hall and get his job back because the old people who watch the Bears miss him.

Whitehair was always billed as being versatile. Maybe he is their plan at LT. That isn't a good plan.

Jenkins will get the first crack at LT, no?

I have to believe they are seeing how low they can get Okung, Fischer, Villaneuva or Peters on a deal. Would you really cut Leno without having something in place?

I just noticed Leno is 30. I think of him as a young player.

Nah, I wouldn't. But we're talking about Ryan Pace here. As I've said for a while, his approach to the GM position is strictly improvisational.

Cross Villanueva off of your list, he just signed with the Ravens.

Pace seems to counting on Nagy to perhaps get Fisher to come here.

That seems like a pretty big gamble. Didn't he miss half the season in 2019 with a torn core muscle? Then he blew out his achilles in January. The guy seems like he might be falling apart. In any event, I'm skeptical that he'll be ready for the start of the season. Then again, a gimpy and injury-riddled Fisher is still likely significantly better than a healthy Leno.
