You know, this just further highlights and illustrates how stupid Eloy Jimenez must be. Injuries like this, while freak, do happen. Guys turn ankles stepping on a bag, break a bone while sliding or by getting HBP. Tearing your hip is definitely a strange injury, but at least Robert was trying to leg out an infield single in a scoreless, regular season game. It sucks but this injury is at least understandable.

Eloy's dumbfuck injury is the one that really thinned out the roster and hurt the lineup.

And yes, sign Puig today. If there are any issues, guys like Abreu and Keuchel will keep him in check.

I get that but what they really need is someone who can hit and drive in runs. Eaton can play cf until Engel gets back. Puig might be a waste but they don’t have many options and I think he’s worth a shot. They can always cut him and make a trade once some teams fall out of contention. They just can’t afford to be one of the teams that falls out.

True, but they already have three center fielder types that are in the team's orbit: Engel, Garcia, and Hamilton. They need some offense. They must not have high opinions of Adolfo and Rutherford to not at least consider calling them up.

I followed Adolfo because he was intriguing when they got him. Turns out he's not. He couldn't hit if he had a boat oar.

Leury doesn't count....he's not a major leaguer. Hamilton is a bench player. Engel looks like he's going to struggle to even so the field. They have to trade for a legit CF if they're going to compete this year.
