Monday with Aaron Rodgers was a terrific game. The final Jeopardy response by the returning champion was funny. But, why not guess something? I'm a big fan of Rodgers, like I am of all great QBs. His first day as host was smooth. Came across a little stiff & stoic. But for dabbling outside his field of expertise he did pretty good. I can just imagine some of the NFL dopes who can't put 2 words together trying to host Jeopardy.

My wife thought he was simply monotone and boring.

It’s probably not for him, but it was his first show. Maybe he’ll loosen up.

The fact that he doesn't big smile is rough for tv. If he is smiling you almost can't even tell. He attacks the task at hand methodically like a quarterback.

Rodgers is clearly the least polished television talker of the substitute hosts to date, slightly less than the producer Mike. I can only imagine the difficulty wanting to host as well as he plays football, and he may be that good in the end, but I see a time of honing his craft like he had holding the clipboard for the Packers.

I like his honesty when he admitted not knowing one of the tough answers early on, and I want him to succeed, if only to show how they are not all "dumb athletes".

But, I'm one of the Bears fans who don't hate the Packers, but hate the Bears for not improving enough to beat the Packers.

Maybe they can bring in some actors to carry every scene like they do for his commercials.

Varying by sport. I'd say 75-90% of professional athletes couldn't host Jeopardy.

Anderson Cooper next guest host after Aaron Rodgers. That'll be brutal. Might take a break when he hosts.

Rodgers was ok as host, but I would not like him as the permanent host.

Even graduating from Cal Berkeley, he is not a true intellectual like Jennings that should be in that position.

He sure is prostituting himself for the position, though.

Half of America's loyal Jeopardy fans won't watch Anderson Cooper hosting.

Bill Whitaker from 60 mins. has been the best guest-host so far. He is polished and has the right voice, delivery and temperament for the job.

I think everyone would be pleased with him.

A capable host can't really screw up Jeopardy. Unless it's CNN trash like Anderson Cooper. Just as long as they have a smooth delivery, and no attitude. I really was impressed with all. Especially Aaron Rodgers being new to tv. Maybe rotating guest hosts may be a way to go, at least for awhile. Please LeBron James take the gig on hiatus to comically entertain a nation.

Deadspin will give up on LeVar and talk about how LeBron should host Jeopardy in between his runs as a fighter pilot.

producers don't want another already old AF host who (i) will keel over in a few years and need to be replaced and (ii) has limited appeal to anyone not in AARP

there has to be a spare Kardashian Klan member who can break off a couple days a month to read answers off a prompter. Either someone in that demo or justin bieber, keep it Canadian. Maybe the guy who exposed Janet Jackson's titties at the Super Bowl, he's not doing anything these days (AFAIK)

Maybe it’s what they want but he’s another bland for leaks of a better word. I don’t need Steve Harvey but just a little more juice.

Do you think Art Fleming and Alex Trebek were "true intellectuals". It's a fucking game show host. All you have to do is be somewhat genial, not look like a troll, and be able to read. I get that Trebek liked to foster the idea that he actually knew all the answers, but I didn't think anyone really believed he did.

If we want to find someone who pretends to know everything in the most condescending way possible then they should start using posters from this board.
