great job by TLR w/ all the injures the Wsox have had thus far.

Rodon is 5-0, Kopech has 1.33 ERA and Mercedes is hitting .380. So...NO, this has nothing to do with Tony LaRussa

that has everything to do w/ TLR. Rodon was pure shit before TLR . Who had the balls to call up Mercedes? TLR.

the manger gets all the credit or all the blame. so right now great job by TLR

I apologize, HY

I've got to think the organization is working with, and monitoring TLR more closely now.

I don't disagree, but who the hell are you gonna replace him with?

I think this is gonna be a 1 and done for him. No way they are gonna trust this window with a half dead manager.

Hahn has to be hoping for Larussa to resign. His in-house replacement is picked already if he does.
The pitchers are so painfully fragile now Hahn has to be upset. Handling the staff now has to an organizational effort.

Jesse Rogers asked various MLB managers about the fake runner extra innings rule on their zoom. KC has a 3rd party firm heads upping the team on unique rules they encounter each series laid out for the team to review. Tony definitely needs this.

Who do you think the in house guy is? Duncan's kid?

I'm not trying to be a smartass here, but how do you know when the manager is responsible for the team's success and when he isn't?

I don't think LaRussa is going to be responsible if the Sox win the World Series- though he'll obviously get a lot of credit- and I don't think he's going to be the thing that stops them if they don't.

I've often said that "managers don't matter". It's not that I really think they don't matter, it's just a shorthand way of saying that you'll never know what their effect actually is. We have no realistic way to measure them. It's all just fan's emotions. I don't think Joe Maddon was great and then all of a sudden became un-great because he didn't manage the way Darkside thought he should in the playoffs.

The fuck we don't You watched Ricky the last few years, more importantly in the playoffs last year.

I almost literally dislike them all. There's two managers in my lifetime that I liked. I think I can be better than all the rest of them.

Ricky was not good, but TLR this year makes Ricky look like a brilliant manager in comparison.

Great lineup by LaRussa today.

I love the Royals' ballpark; my second favorite next to new Comiskey.

If Guaranteed Rate is one of your favorites then you are either lacking in objectively or have not been to many parks.

It's not a bad ballpark as long as you stay in the 100 section. Good sightlines, very good food, easy parking and CTA. The lack of bars adjacent keep the dudebros away.

So I'm in town tonight, and watching my first Sox game on the local telecast this season. The JB and LK (I assume occasional) team is a tough listen. Too much cutesy stuff.

Steve Stone will be back on Monday to replace Kasper, who will return to the radio broadcast.

Why did he take Lynn out after 90 pitches? Was he dominating this shitty lineup too much?

TLR has done a great job w/ the starters. No runs now in what, 3 games? not counting the ghost run in cincy.

They said before the game they would limit his pitches as it was his 2nd start after coming off the IL. They did the same in his previous start

baseball manager to me is like president. if he's the guy in charge when times are good, he gets all the credit. if he's the guy in charge when times are bad, he gets all the blame.

i think they hired a proven winner in tony and the guys have upped their game to meet his standards.
