baseball manager to me is like president. if he's the guy in charge when times are good, he gets all the credit. if he's the guy in charge when times are bad, he gets all the blame.

i think they hired a proven winner in tony and the guys have upped their game to meet his standards.

So your thoughts on presidents and managers are equally stupid. At least you’re consistent.

Is it just me or did Lucas get a lot less fidgety?

Scored a double as he took 3rd on the throw home.

Halfway to the cycle.

Just saw that. But I like your optimism here.

Hopped in to offer up the same thought.

That advanced metrics suggest he’s a plus defender will never make sense.

He’s not, but his OBP is nuts in light of that. I still like him in the lineup given how many free swingers they have (when the whole roster isn’t injured). He’s just been awful behind the plate.

He's not hitting, but he's walking a ton right now.

So does his OBP offset his remarkably bad defense? Was he this bad in Milwaukee?

He wasn't paid to come here and draw walks. He was paid to be an offensive force in the middle of this lineup, and he hasn't done that yet.

YES! and also with the Dodgers. He's a framing savant though. It's noticeable when Collins catches. Grandal is going to get you 4 strikes a game that Collins can't get. But what's it worth?

At a buck and quarter, those walks are going to dry up.

Leury Garcia currently has a better avg, slg%, and mor RBI than Grandal.

Giolito was the last Sox starter to give up a run

He broke the scoreless straight today in the first, but the only run he gave up was on a double-play ball. What a terrific series from this ballclub after that shitshow on Wednesday afternoon.
