That said, I'm fully prepared to watch that money evaporate. But, it's been fun.

I just saw the Musk tweet that Tesla is no longer accepting Bitcoin to buy Tesla "on account of bitcoin's over reliance on fossil fuels".

Image

Anyways, that seems to explain the additional sell off.

it correlates with the news that the democrats are going to tax capital gains to hell. but it also is what he says... theres a lot of bad press lately about e-coins polluting the earth. i dont buy it as the reason though, because his viewpoint should be "tesla's technology will eliminate e-coins reliance on fossil fuels"

yes, but the narrative is it's increasing Co2 emissions. the same people that are saying we need to generate electricity cleanly, also say we need to eliminate things that use electricity. dumbass tards. the message should be 'this is WHY we need green energy'.

I thought the bulk of Bitcoin mining was powered by geothermal in Iceland, which is fairly clean.

It seems an oversimplification to assume power usage = anti-green, à la people buying electric cars without understanding how their battery charge is generated.

eth is a good long term hold. moreso than bitcoin i believe. bitcoin will never be anything but a savings account for people. eth is the gateway to a new internet... it's essentially the way the internet was originally intended, if they knew how much bandwidth and speed we would have by now. back in the 90s or early 2000s this decentralized algorithm model wouldnt be feasible... that's why these coins are taking off and theyre not going away (they said the internet would never be anything more than a couple clicky links and whatever back in the early 90s).

yep. the goal should be 'unlimited clean energy' because if you watch enough youtube videos you can tell that's not hard to do at all.

I believe they will go away. By force.

Honestly hadn’t heard that connection before. I’ll have to read up a bit.

Iceland generally is in a weird spot, as they need tourism but rely on the least energy efficient forms of transportation to bring those tourists to their island. Then they bitch about glaciers while also touting the local green credentials.

Doesn’t Tesla still own billions worth of Bitcoin? Why would Musk make such a statement knowing he’d be killing the value? Look for shareholder lawsuits and maybe another SEC inquiry.

Tank it so he can buy more under $50,000 and continue to prop up Tesla's balance sheet. Also Coinbase isn't filling orders during this sell off. Not a great look.

I don't get it.

You pour trillions of dollars into the economy, shut everything down, limit access to vital resources, and that leads to inflation?

Not in my world.
