I had a great time when I was in Dallas. Loved it. I went for work but a guy who I was working with there was a jfk assassination hobbyist and he took me on a tour. We drove the route and then walked around the plaza. Between cars I stood on the x and he took a picture of me from the suppository building. Kind of a fun thing to do.

I doubt you’re fat either but that really has no impact on life goals. I’m serious that you should never consider it too late to try something. Not everything is successful (http://www.drkencast.com) but if it is something you enjoy, keep doing it. Spend your time with something that you enjoy.

I’ve had to re-evaluate my life choices these past 12 months. Gotten all touchy-feely. But some realizations I actually do ascribe to. I wish I’d understood this stuff 5-10 years ago but I think you really do have go through the process.

Have a great trip. Enjoyed my visit to San Antonio. Found a couple of good craft beer joints. A colleague lives in NB and loves it.

I’ve been to Southfork. I was underwhelmed but that was 1981. It was just a ranch with a cool lane.

I’m sure by now it is JR-World owned by Dolly Parton. I still have a can of JR Beer.

I don't even know if it should matter this much. I have a nice life. I don't know if I know what the issue is or if I can fix it anymore. I think I should do more and less thinking about doing more.

You make all good, logical, nice, moral life choices. Except maybe moving those plants.

I freaking love the show. I watched all 500 hours or whatever of it between December of 2019 and April of 2020. My family has ptsd like symptoms if they hear bobby or the theme song.

Where would you go on vacation or something like that?

Plus you are closer to Los Angeles than to Houston at that point. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

This thread is one of them.

But, I’m trying to make some different ones. I literally started doing George Costanza life choices (not Frank).

If I would not have done this before, I am going to do it now. It has had mixed results but at least it is different.

The opposite? You want the complete opposite of tuna on toast. Chicken salad on rye, untoasted, with a side of potato salad and a cup of tea. I find it hard to believe you made horrible life choices. I can't even imagine what that means to you. You are beloved by everybody and are good at cooking meat outdoors. More seems off and all your choices have been yours. Making yourself more accessible might help but I don't know if you could do that or if the world is ready for it.

I need to get up there, it's only a 3 hour drive. Maybe kill a long weekend.

haven't been and I'd say I probably wouldn't go unless it was an event like you went to. Although, I will say, it's probably a good place to people watch...

I wanted to go to culinary school out of high school and my parents said no. I ended up cooking for 6-8 people for 3 years in college which was fun. At the time it was good but I think it made things worse in the long run. I don't think I'd trade my life now for what could have been so it's moot. I feel like I'm in limbo though. Most chefs have really great experiences and stories I wish I had some of that. Some competitions they've been to or places they've lived are so cool. Their businesses, their accomplishments, their products are so impressive and top notch. I think it would be amazing. It doesn't help that I'm aimless but that's always been a character flaw. I fall into things a lot and it just works out for better or worse. I should probably set goals but I'm not sure how to go about that either. Grass is always greener, I'm sure they look at some of my life and think the same thing.

One thing you could do is go back to culinary school and be a private chef. There are plenty of folks in the Houston area that do just that. Instead of people going out, they have the chef come to them. I hired one in 2019 and it was awesome. Price was the same as if we would have gone to a restaurant. Best part was not paying 2x for a bottle of wine. You'd have to see what kind of competition there is. Maybe a better way to put it is to see how many other folks are listing themselves as private chefs (instead of caterers).

You should focus on you not ufos.
