They're not dogshit. They might have 80 wins in them.

There are 4 regulars hitting around .200. Eaton looks like another bargain basement failure.

Madrigal sucks. So sick of tap outs and struggling to get the ball out of the infield. .270 with no power or walks doesn't cut it.

It'd been a crappy weekend, but that helped balance it out.

Now let's finish off Minnesota!

It does make a Sunday better!

And if you're a guy who cares about managers, you have to tip your cap to LaRussa.

I can't complain about him this series. Handled the pen fine and the 2 losses were more due to bad situational hitting rather than anything he controls.

I said here this winter that I was gonna give him into June to show he still has it. But it looks like the clubhouse isn't his, but rather Anderson and Abreu's, which works better.

It would be nice. Or 2005.

2005.

Pat Murphy says the manager never runs the clubhouse and if you're gonna win you need a guy like Pedroia or Rizzo who does. I think Anderson and Abreu both fit that mold.

I have to admit again how wrong I was about Anderson. I never thought he'd be this kind of player. Fuck Tatis Jr. We don't need him.

Really? I hate the Cubs more than you do but they played in three NL championships and won a WS. That's a good run and Rizzo was the most important guy.

I replayed the last few innings and Binetti is ridiculous. He's acting like Abreu won a purple heart a few days ago and is back in the line up. The over drama bu Binetti is too much.

Never thought he would be this good on the field and in the clubhouse. Great decision to continue believing in him and extending his contract.

None of which makes him a leader though. And when you further consider how much the Cubs low balled him in contract negotiations, I think they agree with me.

No, they just know their run is over. Rizzo was the heart and soul of that team. He doesn't mean anything to me. That's just the truth. It's like Jeter was the most important guy during the last Yankee run. They don't win a damn thing without him. The numbers guys can think A-Rod was better. They're just wrong. They know numbers. They don't understand baseball.

I wish that fucker would just shut up. When the game is on the line and the tying run is at second in the ninth and the batter and pitcher are battling in a long count, the tension is there and the game speaks for itself.

Send this guy over to radio. Maybe all that talking will play better over there. I'm not a fan of Vanilla Len but at least he knows when to keep his mouth shut.

Again, none of which has anything to do with leadership.

Zobrist was the heart and soul of the 2016 team. That's just the truth. And the team leaders were Ross, Zobrist and Heyward too if Cubbie lore is to be believed. And it wasn't because of their numbers obviously.

Sometimes team leaders have great numbers. But numbers have nothing to do with leadership. And now the new Cubs leadership has apparently learned the this. Because if reports are to be believed, Rizzo is willing to take less to stay here, and as of now, they are still miles apart.
