Go fuck yourself. Any " competitive disadvantage " the Cubs have are due to you running David fucking Bote out there everyday and having Trevor Williams toe the rubber every 5th day. Love the veiled threat at roster moves if you dont submit to the jab.

The Branch Covidians really seem hung up on OTHER people getting the vaccine, if it works you only have to worry about YOU.

Uh-oh...time for some breathless reporting on whether Hoyer is too old to relate to the clubhouse. A lot of smart people are asking that very question.

What is interesting to me is that somehow in some peoples minds it is your employers business whether you get vaccinated or not. i know i know PANDEMIC, UNPRECEDENTED TIMES. if my boss told me he was "disappointed" with me about my personal vaccination decision id laugh at him, and then he'd laugh too because he would realize how stupid it sounded the second he said it.

I would say that the competitive disadvantage falls to a healthy team who has to sit around for 3 or 4 days while a Covid team makes rosters moves.

Which isn't a Cubs things, that's an MLB thing. No more than 1 game should be cancelled/ppd for Covid. 24 hours is more than enough time to get players from the minors or the taxi squad to fill a roster. If they have to play 1 game with 23 guys, so be it.

I suspect Hoyer is on the receiving end of a similar reaction.

Aren't you the guy that said they weren't going to get the vaccine because of HD TVs, and then got the vaccine because of a work condition?

That's all this is, a work condition that could make the working environment of many co-workers much more enjoyable and productive. Nobody is getting hung up on anyone else in this situation aside from the fact that it's legitimately a better working environment for the Cubs players and staff if they can meet the 85% level.

If not getting hung up on it means the GM whining about players not getting vaccinated to a beat reporter for publication then yeah I guess you're right.

Miss the point much.

Hoyer isn't hung up on Cubs player X not getting the vaccine because Hoyer thinks that player will get Hoyer sick, that isn't what he's hung up on.

He's hung up on the fact that as the person in charge of the on field performance of the team, he feels that the Cubs failure to meet the 85% threshold impairs his ability to do his job, and impairs the ability for the other Cubs on field and off field personnel to do their jobs.

The Detroit Tigers are one of teams with 85% . Id hate to see how their performance on the field is hampered if they werent .

Except I dont tell my boss or anyone else's boss how to run their business or offer them any opinions on how to do so, nor have I asked anyone if they were vaccinated or offered opinions on whether they should be, and I go about our business like normal and everything is fine. Not sure I get your point other than you disagree with me and you believe vaccinations are indeed the business of your employer, and you can't handle that in these troubling times.

I don't really have a direct answer to this other than why would Hoyer lie about it if he doesn't think it's true?

I'd just presume that all of the restrictions on off field stuff, who you can socialize with, how you live your life on the road, what I would presume to be more testing, exposure protocols, etc. are things that Hoyer believes hurts the performance of the team.

Brewers players have talked about how they have more freedom to get out of the hotel, go to different restaurants. Not having to wear mask in the dugout amongst other things. It is more a mental thing that it helps them I am sure, but it also makes it feel more normal I would imagine.

Whatever the employer thinks is his business, within the law, is his business as it relates to his employees. I mean if my boss wanted me to show up in a Serena Williams catsuit everyday, that's his call, and he's got to deal with the fallout, but it most certainly is his business. If an employer is interested in vaccine status because he thinks that can help his business, that certainly is his business as an employer.

OK? I disagree. Let me know how you feel when your mandatory catsuit though. I'm pretty sure I am safe in either case, since neither is going to happen.

Its just an opinion. Hoyer " feels" its hurting the team. Arrieta ( the player actually playing the game) says it isnt. Ive been told throughout this entire thing that these things are just minor inconveniences. No way to really tell .

Arrieta sucks too, who cares what he thinks. He was perfectly happy hopped up on worse stuff than a Covid shot when he was dominant with the Cubs.

July definitely was scared of the Hollywood tweet. I’m not sure if Bernstein formally declared that Jake was part of the to-be-constituted SS force that may or may not send people to camps.
