Now if the Blue Jays were the opposition, that would have been a funny line by ZZ.

With the Cubs, this will be 57 days Heyward has been on the injured list, plus numerous rehab stints. With the Braves 60 days on the injured list, and numerous rehab assignments. How many days on the injured list in his contract year with the Cardinals? Zero.

Kimbrel and Bryant have become valuable trade pieces.

Really pissed me off that the whole series, NOBODY cared or mentioned Starlin Castro as part of the reunion.

He was great player for us for 5 or 6 years, in fact the only good player on our team for a few years, all when he was a youngster in his early 20s.

It's sad. His numbers, say .OPS, are just as good as Schwarber's.

Why nobody cared about him returning?

Big series, and yet nobody bothered to recap it or analyze it.

We took 3 out of 4, to me the Nats are actually a good team, much better than their record would show.

Lot of good young hitters, and their pitching has a good track record. Obviously Strasburg's been hurt, but this to me is not a last place team.

They should improve as the season goes on, and Scherzer/Strasburg get some traction.

Also one thing to note, is that the only win was in Scherzer's start. Normally you'd expect this, except baseball usually has a way of turning things upside down.

Also, the Cubs have always hit Scherzer well, and almost broke thru in the 5th. They knocked him out after 5 innings and 105 pitches. Amazingly, the bullpen was able to hold the Cubs down for 4 innings in Wrigley.

Anyway, great series. Schwarber ended up hitting 2 HRs and raised his OPS numbers. He has been steadily doing good the last couple weeks after hitting at .186.

He's been back like half a dozen times.
