Speaking of gas stations, Costco is now requiring you to enter your zipcode after inserting/tapping your card. I don't want this extra step "for my protection." It's not for my protection...it's for the credit card company's protection. I thought the chip cards were supposed to solve these problems.

Depends on what the card companies are allowing and what the stations are at. Used to be 75 until a few years back they bumped it to 100. Most of ours out here are at 100 bucks a fill because of Diesel trucks having 30-40 gallon tanks. Wife had one of those 42 gallon suburbans and would often have to run two fills on it at certain stations. More and more I think I'll put in a road diesel and an unleaded tank on the the farm so I don't have to deal with this anymore. God knows we will have 4 drivers in a year so we will burn through it.

Yea, I was having to do two transactions. Or I would just be mindful and when it was about a 3rd of the tank left, go fill it.

Another bitch... :D When it rains it pours...

Some may remember (it was in another thread), early on this spring, the spoiler on one of my cars got ripped off in the car wash. I fixed that, put a new, freshly painted one on. A few weeks later, the A/C tensioner shit the bed, causing the belt to jump and a portion of it wedging between the harmonic balancer (the front crank pulley) and the front engine cover, tearing my front main seal. So it's was pissing oil all over the place. In the process of fixing that, taking the electric fans off to allow room to use the impact on the harmonic balancer bolt, I broke the upper radiator hose nipple on the radiator... So I band-aided that until I could get a radiator (which I have now, just waiting to put that in). So fixed the main seal, new harmonic balancer, new A/C tensioner, new A/C belt. Only to find out the high pressure side A/C fitting was leaking, so no A/C until I replace that schrader valve... Grrr...

Then driving back from a track meet for our son, in the Wife's van, I hear grinding from the rear brakes (drivers side). I kinda knew what the issue would be as it's an common on the RT platform vans, where the bottom slider pin in caliper bracket freezes up and won't allow the caliper to "float" back, wearing out the inside pad. So preemptively, when I ordered new brakes, I just got a new bracket, which included new slider pins, from Chrysler. Got that drivers side R&R'd, new bracket and all, go to the passenger side (which BTW, I did rear brakes a year ago), so I didn't think that bracket would be frozen up, since it was new then when I did them. Sure as shit, it's frozen too. So I had to put it all back together until I could get another bracket. So that will be another thing I do this weekend.

It's just frustrating. I enjoy working on cars, I did it for a living for awhile, but I hate constantly having to fix shit when it all breaks at once.

CDOM, someday I will spend the time to tell you my five cars story. After being laughed at by the technician at Brandy’s repair shop, “This is going to cost you a shit ton!”, I never purchased a used car again. There is nothing more frustrating than owning a car that just keeps breaking down or having mechanical issues.

I always love stories.

I am to that point, moreso because of age than anything, that I just want warrantied shit anymore.

Heck, even tempted to start looking at Tesla's. I'm tired of things pissing oil, coolant, and whatever else, all over the place.

Reliability = Yes.
Functionality = No.

This is #3 for me. But I have gotten a lot of mileage out of them.

Agreed. My oldest got a Jeep Grand Cherokee six months out of school. When he traded it in a year later, I was glad that he avoided the inevitable repair bills.

Looks like the last frost event got 95-100% of our grapes. Insurance company will adjust according to crop size in July, when we normally do a weighed estimate. But, judging from leafy, green growth versus curled-up brown dead stuff, we won't have enough to harvest.

To the brag about topic, I have the best crop insurance policy money can buy. Now i need to determine some equipment to purchase this year so as to offset the potential tax burden of the insurance pay out.

So recently I bought this new Silverado. It’s a nice ride and all was well. Sometimes though it’s hard to remember you have to pull out further and swing a bit more on a right turn with the longer vehicle.

So a few days ago I’m leaving the lot of the local CVS and the have so many of those parking lane end caps with stone etc. I make a right onto the main lot lane to get to the exit and it felt like I just ran over the curb a little bit but kinda hard. Haven’t we all? :(

I had no reason until the next day but I open the passenger door and hear the telltale crunch. No quarter panel and door are screwed up. Seems the bottom of quarter and mud flap caught enough to push itself into the door clearance.

Parts order and waiting for the body shop appointment. Nationwide is on your side. Thanks Peyton.

I had to write an obituary a while back and both the small town paper and the funeral home fucked up the spacing and the indentation. I wrote a fantastic obit and got many compliments but it annoyed the hell out of me that they centered-right justified the text and didn't even skip lines between the paragraphs. All they literally had to do was copy and paste the document I sent them. Then they put the obit on the prayer card and once again it was center-right justified AND in all-caps and italics. WTF? Surprised they didn't put it in comic sans. I should have complained and gotten it fixed but I didn't.

Went golfing today and my Irish/Polska genes betrayed me. I’m nursing a serious sunburn and don’t know if I have the energy to correct the many wrongs posted on this board today.

Played at the Preserve in Addison. Kind of a half way point between me and a buddy who lives south and I’d heard good things about the redesign. It’s not bad for a forest preserve course but the grounds were in pretty rough shape and the greens were extremely bumpy. Would not recommend any time soon.

Grab a can of spray on sunscreen and keep it in your bag. Then you can apply whenever and as needed while your hands don't get all greasy.

CDOM's grandmother's ancient secret for sunburns... Soak a washcloth in tea... The Tannic acid in tea will take the "burn" away in the sunburn.

Just found out an old pals son was sentenced to 16 years for attempted murder.
Maybe you remember hearing about this kid.
Hes the one that shot the postal worker on new years eve 2018. I knew that kid almost 20 years ago when he was just a little micro dude. Can't hardly believe he'd try to murder someone. He was a bit mixed up but damn.

Goodnight Sweet Lily.

She crossed the rainbow bridge shortly after noon today.

She was a really good girl. We are going to miss her dearly.
