My first ever baseball game I ever attended was a White Sox game actually, at Yankee Stadium, 6/1/1979. Young mofo was a big Yankees fan back then. Ron Guidry shut them out on two hits 4-0, and Francisco Barrios went the distance for the Sox as well, no relief pitchers that day. I just looked at the box score - time of game: 1:52. Those were the days.

Mine actually was vs. the Twins in 71. 1st game of a doubleheader and I've never seen a more crowded park. About 20 rows off of the right field wall and I primarily remember a loss, a new pennant and hot dog. And my dad keep telling me to sit in my seat and stop patrolling the aisle.

If Kirby Puckett hadn't played there, I'd still hate the Twins.

I loved Rod Carew.

Probably the best pure hitter of his era.

Back in the day, my best friend mimicked his swing while I stupidly thought that copying Pops Stargell was a good idea for a scrawny eight year old

I doubt that kids sit in a front yard trying to copy a major league's very often any more.

But we certainly did :(

Loved Pops Stargell's warm up when he got into the box.
