Take a breath here, Jorr. Go to a Sox game next homestand. Masks are almost non-existent once your ticket is scanned, and you can walk around and stand just about wherever you want.

That doesn't fly if you read the actual story with quotes from the bartenders and patrons about almost gleefully keeping the unvaccinated out.

Employees at Nisei Lounge at Sheffield and Newport say Memorial Day weekend was packed. They announced the decision to allow only vaccinated patrons on Friday and since then, they have been near full capacity.

Bartender Miranda Isbell says the owners made the move so they could reopen to 100-percent capacity. She says it is a huge relief knowing that all her co-workers and now patrons are fully vaccinated.

"Just keeping everybody that's around you comfortable for now and being able to walk around without a mask on is the dream of 2021," said Isbell. "So, being able to allow that inside of our establishment and but also make our business, which is very small and very old, make a lot of money is huge for us."

She hopes this is an incentive for people to get vaccinated and hopes other bars decide to follow their path.

"It feels really good to talk to people and be relaxed and feel a little more comfortable," said patron Beth Morrissey.
These people definitely seem gleeful and angry!

I'm not angry, Frank. It's not like I'm a regular at Nisei. But at some point we have to stand up against PRIVATE BUSINESSES being allowed to inquire about our medical status. Either that or make your case why PRIVATE BUSINESSES should be allowed to do that. But don't get angry when you make your argument.

Now watch the video I posted in my second post. There are some other also not angry people explaining to you how this has nothing to do with health.

A business can ask anything they want. You are not required to provide an answer. You are not required to patronize said business.

A bar put procedures in place that were in line with rules that their City currently has in place so they could operate at 100% capacity this past weekend. Are you arguing that a PRIVATE BUSINESS should NOT be allowed to do this?

Interesting debate. Reminds me of the thoughts back in the day when smoking was universally banned from Illinois bars. What if the free market made the decision and each bar got to decide whether or not to allow smoking? I personally believe people should have a choice with some health issues in life. Nisei is giving potential patrons a choice and, unlike some of the other analogies in this thread, there are plenty of alternative options close by to make a different choice. Regardless, until vaccination status becomes a protected class, the unvaccinated could theoretically be joining the shoe and shirtless crowd left on the curbs of Wrigleyville. At least there is no shortage of compadre's there.

I don't think unvaccinated people are going to qualify as a protected class.

Even if they do, you're going to be in the ballpark of a compelling state interest for governmental actions, at least for a while.

Now this is the person who isn't angry. Got any more folksy sayings to prove how wise and learned you are? Here is one. If you sell your interest in a place, don't come back to piss all over it. I guess they didn't teach you that one during your esteemed career hustling on the streets.

I agree that there's an argument to be made for allowing such discrimination by PRIVATE BUSINESSES. It would be rather odd for so-called liberals to be making such an argument though. And I don't think it's a good argument anyway. There are clearly privacy issues. Do you really want your hot dog vendor privy to your medical records? Because that's the paradigm this establishes.

And it will likely be far from temporary. Can you give me an example of a government supported policy or a law that hasn't expanded in ways that were clearly never contemplated by those endorsing the policies or writing the laws?

At the very least it's an unfortunate precedent we're allowing to be set in certain areas of the country.

Does showing your hot dog vendor a picture of a card-- that may or may not be forged-- on your phone give them access to your medical records?

If the answer is yes (it's not), you are certainly free to choose a different hot dog vendor. If the answer is no , you are certainly free to choose a different hotdog vendor.

If a man constantly defends a woman he's not related to, people will naturally assume that he's either fucking her or trying to fuck her. I wonder if it works the same when another man is constantly running to the defense of another man?

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want another man constantly defending me like I'm a damsel in distress.

Even if they do, you're going to be in the ballpark of a compelling state interest for governmental actions, at least for a while.

There's a very simple concept that you're failing to grasp. Your rights end when they infringe on mine. You're being illogically hyperbolic here. I sincerely doubt that you have any concept of the general welfare and public health in lieu of your constant temper tantrum. All because you won't accept that this small act benefits the greater good

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want another man constantly defending me like I'm a damsel in distress.

Says the person who made the deep-throated defense of LTG as unfairly picked on once again last weekend. Interesting projection going on though.

I don't think unvaccinated people are going to qualify as a protected class.

And the always unanswered question that still remains of course is if youre already vaccinated, why would you care if youre around unvaccinated people ?
