Ah, the old Vaccine thread question where I used to take on all comers.

We were always just a good pandemic from MANY more people seeing things my way.

You can't make this stuff up.

Take a breath here, Jorr. Go to a Sox game next homestand. Masks are almost non-existent once your ticket is scanned, and you can walk around and stand just about wherever you want.

I'm not angry, Frank. It's not like I'm a regular at Nisei. But at some point we have to stand up against PRIVATE BUSINESSES being allowed to inquire about our medical status. Either that or make your case why PRIVATE BUSINESSES should be allowed to do that. But don't get angry when you make your argument.

Wait, you aren't even a patron? Had you ever even been there? I'd never heard of that place until a reasonable policy ruffled your feathers here.

It seems to me that your best protest against this is to not go instead of the contrived outrage you're displaying here. Life's too short.

I've been there enough. I won't go again regardless. But that isn't the point.

That was your same stance with your former bike shop, and then you complained how you can't find an adequate replacement. Because of a 50 cent mask policy you can't accept. How can you have so little respect for the health and well-being of others?

Cutting off your nose to spite your face doesn't make sense. And getting your dander up about this is laughable, but sad.

Yeah well its different when he does it !!

You've got it all wrong, as usual. I had a mask on at the bike shop. That didn't stop them from treating me like a leper. Why would I do business with someone who has such little respect for me? And if the vaccines work, how does my medical status affect the health and well-being of others? Those are the questions you should be asking. Unless of course, you just want to beef with me. Which is okay too. That's one of the things this board is good for.

I agree that there's an argument to be made for allowing such discrimination by PRIVATE BUSINESSES. It would be rather odd for so-called liberals to be making such an argument though. And I don't think it's a good argument anyway. There are clearly privacy issues. Do you really want your hot dog vendor privy to your medical records? Because that's the paradigm this establishes.

And it will likely be far from temporary. Can you give me an example of a government supported policy or a law that hasn't expanded in ways that were clearly never contemplated by those endorsing the policies or writing the laws?

At the very least it's an unfortunate precedent we're allowing to be set in certain areas of the country.

That would be a fair question to ask the City and State given some of the current restrictions. Now, most of those restrictions should disappear in about ten days so it should be water under the bridge soon. That doesn't make your question invalid though.

Still, how can you fault a place of business for taking steps that their city deems necessary to operate at 100% capacity right now?

An intellectual should under that word.

In all seriousness, if you want to pay dues to become a member of his club, get him to introduce you to someone he knows, hear stories about the women he's fucked or simply have a drink with him, you could just ask. Instead, you are unnecessarily embarrassing yourself behaving like a child/dog who is desperately seeking his father's/master's approval.

I do want to say though, that private businesses have been inquiring about health status of customers for years. I can probably think of other examples but at my day care, for my kids, prior to enrollment we needed to provide: statement from physician that child can attend the program, all immunization records, and updated immunization records, and then reams of medical information to allow them to return to the school if they have been sent home with an illness.

I'm guessing that's been going on longer than my kids have been in daycare, and we haven't been forced to show our banker a rectal scan when we go in there to rent out a safe deposit box.

Yeah, the greater good. Look around, man.

I noted here in March of 2020 how the fear that the hysteria raised had affected me. I got fully vaccinated in April and it reduced my remaining anxiety over it to some extent. And if I were to go into a private business that mandated a certain policy to protect the health of the employees and their patrons it helps further. Maybe it's just the lingering effects of the hysteria and stupidly displayed, but at this point I still look for if and find your objections puzzling, especially after your hyperbolic statements starting with your mother in law.

That's a fair point, Frank, if- as I pointed out above- the place of business were taking a conciliatory stance with the customers it was excluding rather than using a policy to shame them and promote a medical procedure. You showed that terse sign as evidence they were doing that, but to me it read like, "HEY, YOU DON'T LIKE IT? CALL THE CITY." and when taken along with the clearly pro-experimental vaccine language used by the employees and the accepted customers, well, it's obviously not a place I'm interested in patronizing.

Is that an unfair opinion? Perhaps. But I do find it odd that in a place where people often call for others to die and mercilessly attack the looks of others, I'm somehow the poster boy for anger. It's actually kind of funny when you think about it.

Are you confusing me with someone else? I don't think I ever mentioned my mother-in-law. But I will say that she's 92 years old and the lack of human contact she was allowed over the past year has clearly and obviously contributed to her mental and emotional decline. She never caught cold though!

There's a business in California that has a sign on their door informing customers that they'll have to pay a $5 surcharge (that will go to charity) if they order their meal while wearing a mask.

This is fair as well. Maybe part of the reason for their sign/policy was political. I don't really know, and neither does anybody else outside of the owners of the place. I'm just saying that given the rules that Chicago had in place for bars/restaurants over Memorial Day weekend, its hard to fault them for doing what they had to do if they wanted to operate at full steam. Obviously MANY other places chose to operate at lesser capacities. Should we be trashing those business owners as well?

MANY are actively participating in a life that is mostly the same as it was during the summer of 2019.

There's a very simple concept that you're failing to grasp. Your rights end when they infringe on mine. You're being illogically hyperbolic here. I sincerely doubt that you have any concept of the general welfare and public health in lieu of your constant temper tantrum. All because you won't accept that this small act benefits the greater good

Yeah, the greater good. Look around, man.

Reader, who in that bar ( the greater good) is having only vaccinated people inside protecting?

I don't think it's about the greater good. It's about having a business run at maximum capacity. Also understanding that implementing a policy like this will get snowflakes to complain and drive more business to your establishment. It's smart in pretty much every way unless your business is in a Trump Cult area.

The just following orders defense.

Imho it's about both. And quite honestly if I were still a lounge patron and in the area, I'd patronize that place just because of the contrived outrage on display here

It's actually kind of funny when you think about it.

get over it you vag. good grief.

Yeah, I'm the angry guy.

it's nonstop whining and crying. this place was mean to me. that place was mean to me. the made up hot dog vendor is mean to me. waaa waaa waaa

it's incredible. everyone is somehow the asshole except you. you're a grown ass man throwing temper tantrum everywhere.

grow up or go find a guardian who can keep you tantrums in check. it's exhausting reading your trash. at least allow us to mute/foe your garbage posts.

Are you serious? You really lack self-awareness. The post I'm responding to is a bigger temper tantrum than I've ever thrown in my life, including when I was five years old.

How about if you just find somewhere else where you can read stuff you like? Because, you know what? Now I am angry. I'm supposed to provide a message board for assholes like you to insult me? Go fuck yourself.

I would like to put Seacrest on ignore. Then I would tell him everyday how I have him on ignore.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want another man constantly defending me like I'm a damsel in distress.

Says the person who made the deep-throated defense of LTG as unfairly picked on once again last weekend. Interesting projection going on though.

I'll try to "under" it. The depth of the argument from the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion crowd is: You are angry. You are crazy. You are a burrito/pussy/bitch.

It's quite intimidating to be called out by the person bemoaning the loss of LTG once again this weekend. I await your next set of cliches from the streets, which work on lieu of evidence when making any claim.
