The idea of people selling forged vaccination cards is so funny. Unlike the Sweet Baby Ray's restaurant and tiny bottles of sauce, they're giving the vaccine away! You can either be less susceptible for free or more susceptible for money. And it's the so-called titans of small business who are doing it the dumb way? Get your shots already everyone geeeeeeeeez.

Vax cards are FREEEEEEEE.

This may or may not surprise you, but using the right card stock, printing them out and writing on them is a problem for some. That's why MANY are willing to pay someone to be a rebel.

The Johnson & Johnson seems to make the most sense unless you're a woman under 50. Then there is a small chance that you can die. On second thought, I think all women should get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine if you aren't already vaccinated.

You may need a different type of shot when you leave.

I will get the vax, no later than October when my physical is due. I'm just kinda waiting for the NEW and IMPROVED Moderna, NOW with VARIANT PROTECTION. I'm just not concerned about catching COVID. With summer here, I'm even less than unconcerned. I'm anti-concerned.

Some people ask the question, “If vaccines work, why do unvaccinated people present a risk to those who have been vaccinated?” Two simple facts contribute to this answer. First: Vaccines aren’t 100 percent effective. So even some people who are vaccinated will still be at risk. Second: The greater the number of unvaccinated people in a community, the more opportunity germs have to spread. This means outbreaks are more difficult to stem and everyone is at greater risk of exposure — including vaccinated people.

This latter concept is known as community immunity, or more commonly, herd immunity. Each member of the community contributes to the collective health of the community because the way a pathogen survives is by finding new people to infect. The fewer susceptible people in a community, the less opportunity the pathogen has to spread.

Interestingly, people often do not think about the fact that there are times when every family needs the protection of their community. New babies and infants may be too young to be vaccinated, and older adults or adults being treated for illnesses may be more susceptible to infections as well.

To read more about community immunity and to find considerations for both vaccinated and unvaccinated family members, review the Vaccine Education Center’s newest “Special Topics Q&A” sheet Vaccinated or Unvaccinated: What You Should Know.

Ok so the takeaway is other people have germs and may infect you regardless if youve been vaccinated against ________ ? Good a reason as any I guess.

If your goals are to grind the board down and kill it, this is a solid tactic.

As a (relatively) new poster, I’ll disagree - respectfully of course.

I enjoy the arguing. Some of it gets annoying - e.g., Nas could’ve dropped the lapdog bit after a post but kept it running for some reason - but it’s still more entertaining than people gaslighting me that the Sox Vandy-tribute unis aren’t pure trash.

it's arguing like the monty python sketch of the argument clinic. but not at all entertaining.

What's better? Nas' CFMB Biden Press Secretary bit or the lapdog bit? Both are very good in very different ways.

Why is Sox Fan Joe hanging around in Wrigleyville, anyway...and at a place with ironic Schlitz and Pabst signs that highlights that it serves Malort.

Nas has a lot of bits now for some reason.
One of the fastest ways to piss off someone that isn't pissed off is to be like "look how mad you are! You're mad! You're all angry! Why are you so angry?! You're mad!" My sister used to pull that shit on me when she was 12 and I was 6. I wasn't mad until she started fucking with me about how mad I was and that pissed me off. Suddenly I had an anger problem. At 6. This smells childish to me.

Anyway you guys have your fun.

Will we be a germaphobic society now? Because evolutionarily speaking, that's a bad idea. As Jeff Goldblum famously said, "Germs find a way".

Some certainly will be from here on out. They can act crazy if they want to.

MANY will revert back to the old ways and be normal eventually, as evidenced by the even increasing amount of people no longer wearing masks.

i don't think it's germaphobia. it's agoraphobia, in some cases. in others, it's people who think they have to keep up their social media cred by continually wearing a mask (like that one political cartoon mocked recently).

I'm concerned a kid walks into school with a snotty nose and is sent home. Which, for some kids, is most of the winter

The idea that everything will just bounce back to normal now is just childish. There is a political effort now to control who gets to participate in mainstream society. Vaccinated or not is clearly the first step on this. At the beginning of this no one would have believed that society would shut down for a year, and that everyone would be forced to wear masks. Where the next steps will lead remains uncertain, but authoritarianism has the upper hand.

Eventually will never be. We aren't going back. We are still taking our shoes off 20 years after 9/11. There will be long lasting restrictions because of this disease and our response. Schools including summer camps are still masked. Not getting into a bar is a part of the larger picture. We don't know what it will look like, but society will not be the same.

That's a good point.

Eventually people will decide that drinking at home, watching a game on TV and listening to a concert later online, will be just fine.

Asking someone if they have been vaccinated isn't a violation of their right to health privacy. There is nothing from disclosing the info which indicates anything regarding a person's health.

I don't think that's entirely true.

There is certain information that can be inferred on how or why someone did or did not get the vaccine and when they did so.

It may not always be correct but a person could certainly draw some conclusions.

In public there hasn't been one person that I know of that when asked, has not freely disclosed the information. Granted its a small sample size but even complete strangers have had no problem disclosing whether or not that they have been vaccinated.
