How much longer do you give him to figure it out before you call up Sheets or Burger, who are both killing it at AAA and were always projected to end up here at some point

June 15 and then bring up Sheets; at least he gives you the opportunity to play him in the outfield and first, in addition to DH.

Advance scouts figure things out. Good players adjust, but it usually takes them a while.

Burger looked ok when I saw him play live a couple of weeks ago. But he's not going to play 3B unless Moncada gets moved to another position. And he's not going to play every day at DH if you bring him up to replace Yermin. If you are bringing Burger or Sheets up, you are doing it to showcase them for a deadline trade.

I'd rather get David Peralta from Arizona to play LF and a little RF, and give Vaughn more time at DH.

Not when combined with April numbers, which would make it two months. billy wins.

My 50-year old numbers look good when combined with my 18-year-old numbers.

I'd let Sheets try LF while Vaughn tries RF. If both are passable there, it becomes a lot easier to DH Eloy in ~8 weeks when he is back here.

All of these potential moves work around Eloy is a DH and does not see the field. Yes, with that you have to figure out the corner outfield spots.

Yermin doesn't get to be a catcher. If there's trade value, consider it. Unless another catching option becomes available you consider dealing Grandal, but as it stands....and it makes me cringe....we are currently stuck keeping Grandal and Yermin would be a pinch-hitting bench option.....sent back down to minors....or traded.

The Grandal situation is a problem (defensively) but I don't see a way out.

I'd bat Yermin 7th for a few games and see if he can get things turned around. After an off the charts April, his May numbers were middle of the road. This shocks nobody who has a brain, so it explains why Bob would be replying in a thread like this.

He's fouling off cookies early in the count. We don't know if that's the exception or the rule. My uneducated guess it's the exception. He just always looks hitterish.

looks like the sox have used Sheets more as a RF.

I think first up at DH is a platoon with Lamb against RH. Yermin is still hitting .413 against LH

You have to give Mercedes a longer leash. I think he gets another month. Eloy's situation will be become clearer by then as well. He might even start a rehab assignment.

You guys are drinking lots of Eloy Kool Aid.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right, but I think its silly to count on him playing in a game- majors or minors- before August 15th.

I believe I said I wouldn't count on him playing in a White Sox game before Labor Day. Point being, I think best case scenario with him is he rehabs 10 games or so in Charlotte mid-late August, and is able to DH for the Sox in Sept.

I would love to be wrong, but I just don't see it playing out any better.

I had Aug 15th. It won't be any later. Book it.

I think he will start a rehab by August 1 and be in MLB by 15.

I hope you are Nardi are correct, and I end up being wrong.

FF may end up being correct.

I did the math when I predicted the 15th. And this was before it was announced he was starting rehab. Two months to heal, two months of rehab, 2 weeks at AAA. He's actually ahead of that schedule. Doctors said 4 months, Hahn said 5. I just split the difference.

Robert's injury might be a different animal. Seems more susceptible to setbacks. I mean, you have to run in baseball but you don't have to do pullups.

Sox changed the timetable in late March to 4-5 months from the original 5-6 months. Eloy coming back just after the deadline seems like it's going to happen unless he reinjures himself.
