I really thought that Baez was going to try a straight steal of home there. Try and force a passed ball or a balk. He knows that there's no way Heyward is going to hit a line drive there.

A win would of given the Cubs a chance at a split. That would have been amazing how bad the starting pitching has been in the series. To the point now even Arrieta pinch hitting for Heyward is a better choice than him hitting. Least he'd take some good hacks.

This looks to be the 4-game sweep revenge for the Giants. Remember in 2016 when the Cubs swept them at home 4 games. Giants came in as a good team. That was the series where Giants were threatening and Maddon took out Hammel after 2 IP with runners on to blunt any traditional Cub failure.

Love the classic gutty performance by the Professor.

After 3 IP he gave up 7 hits and was losing by 2. Most managers woulda panicked and pinch-hit for him.

He hung in there and last 6.3 IP and is in line for the win.

Classic game, wish more managers would stick with their starters like this.
