Doc. blew the game in the 2nd quarter. Left his bench in way too long. He also waited too long to switch Danny Green off of Trae. If it isn't going to be Simmons then it has to be Thybulle or Maxey. No one else.

Nice that they made interesting, but that first half was brutal. I like Trae though so I can’t be mad. And if the Sixers wanna take this seriously, be my guest. I’m used to their early exits in playoff series.

They woke up in the 2nd half but this game was on Doc. As long as Embiid plays they will win the series.

What's the take out of this game? That Philly from here on out will just muscle wins or that Atlanta managed their way out of a double choke and got it out of their system.

I'm shocked we won with Embiid playing and DeAndre Hunter out. He's a massive part of the team and his replacement Solomon Hill is pure garbage.


My guy was amazing, that really shouldn't surprise anyone at this point.

Simmons tried guarding him and picked up 2 fouls in about a minute. Thybulle tried guarding him and got lit up as he always does vs Trae. Like I said, they have no one who can stay in front of him.

Sixers only chance is if the commit to blitzing Trae and trapping him the entire game, but that's a lot of cardio to ask of your players.

25 points in the first half with Green as his primary defender.10 points in the 2nd half with Thybulle as his defender primarily. If you see Green on him at any point during the rest of the series it will be to start games.

I'm comfortable with Simmons or Thybulle. No one else. Doc made a mistake. Hopefully he corrects it in game 2.

And he really didn't do all that much against Thybulle in the 2nd half by the way. Terrible shot selection and a number of turnovers

no, it was 25 points on Green in first half and then 10 points on Thybulle/Green/Simmons in addition to whoever was double teaming him as soon as he crossed half court. That's a big difference. No one on the Sixers single covered him in the second half.

He was a markedly different player without the extremely slow Green on him. If Doc runs that same coverage back in the 2nd game he is an idiot.

Philly's bench has been their undoing both games. God they're thin. Outscored 32-0 with most of the work being done by Galinari and Huerter. Maxey is out there like a bootleg Coby White. Yar!

They are still going to lose Shakes. Collins has been a no show the first 2 games and Embiid is thoroughly dominating Capela.

And for all of the Trae is great talk they are a combined -22 when he is on the floor over the first couple of games. Good to see Doc made an adjustment from game 1 by switching Simmons over to Ice Cold Trae

They most likely will lose. As they should. They're playing the #1 seed, team I picked to win it all in my bracket. Collins and Capela have to play better. Hill needs to disappear. Hunter needs to come back. They'll play a lot better at home.

I don't acknowledge plus/minus as a real stat so I won't address that.

Embiid dominated the game. Trae did not. I don't like being so simplistic about it, but if Embiid is going to go 40 and 13, Trae has to go 40 and 13.

Doc made a subtle adjustment somewhere during game 1. For all of Shakes talk about Trae being doubled in game 1 he was but wasn't. They are only doubling him on screen rolls. They are playing him straight up Otherwise.

They are essentially telling McMillan to stop calling the screen roll because they aren't going to switch it. That's old school basketball on how to play pick and roll. Either fight over screens or trap. No switching.
If Trae is that dude then he shouldn't need a damn screen anyway. He should be able to beat his man consistently one on one.

They are trusting Simmons and Thybulle with guarding him one on one. Last night Simmons won that battle
