Any word on how future HOFer Blake Bortles has looked?

I'm not a packers fan so I dont know anything about Rob Demovsky, but i just clicked on his twitter feed to see what was there and man oh man, that dude REALLY is into practice stats and "drill-winning drives" and breaking down the numbers.

Where's Allen Iverson when you need him. Its practice. Not a game, - We're talking about practice, man. PRACTICE!

Former Packers wide receiver James Jones believes that Aaron Rodgers ultimately will get on the same page with the Packers’ front office and play in Green Bay this season.

“I truly believe that he will be there for training camp, this will get fixed, and I think the relationship will get much better between him and the GM,” Jones told Colin Cowherd.

Jones said Rodgers isn’t as down on Packers General Manager Brian Gutekinst as some people have made him out to be, nor is Rodgers as unhappy about his contract as some people have made him out to be.

“I’ve talked to Aaron. I talk to him all the time. He’s told me that it’s not about the G.M., it’s not about new money, it’s not about the G.M. So when I hear everybody say it’s about getting the G.M. fired and these things, it’s not about that,” Jones said.

So why is Rodgers not participating in the Packers’ mandatory minicamp this week?

“His No. 1 beef is a private conversation on the phone that I can’t share with you,” Jones said.

The closest Jones would come to explaining what exactly Rodgers is upset about was an indication that Rodgers’ frustration with the Packers cutting receiver Jake Kumerow extends to other players they’ve let go as well. Jones said Rodgers doesn’t object to drafting Jordan Love but does object to cutting Kumerow, Jordy Nelson and other favorite teammates.

“It’s not about who you’re bringing in, I can’t control who you draft, I can’t control who you bring in in free agency. But what I do want a little input on is the guys you’re letting out of the building. You’ve got guys like Jordy Nelson who are willing to take a pay cut to play and you say, ‘No, get out of here’ anyway,” Jones said. “I think it’s the guys getting out of the building, that he’s seen walking out of the building and still wanted to be in Green Bay and still could have been contributors to winning a championship.”

That's mostly bullshit. He felt disrespected by the Love draft, and then asked for another redone contract this off-season. The team said no so he is pouting. If Love didn't suck they would have traded Rodgers by now.

James Jones is on the NFL Network all the time. He doesn't seem particularly well informed, and he's not much of an analyst either.

Honestly, Jordan Love's throws look like shit, but even in the meaningless vid I posted, Bortles had a nicer ball, now let's go back to college, nothing about this guys arm in college was impressive either, he was a 3rd rounder at best that the Packer's reached on, so why would any rational Packer's fan be excited about Jordan love? (outside of "well we found Rodgers after Favre, so naturally this will work too")?

It's pretty well known he's good friends with Rodgers still, but I'm sure knuckleheads on the CFMB are more well informed about why Rodgers isn't at camp right now.

Well according to James Jones, part of the reason is ecause the Packers decided to cut a guy whom Rodgers targeted a whopping 32 times over 19 games in GB, and another guy who had a $12 million cap hit, had less than 500yd receiving, and was coming off of a major injury.

Kumerow went on to catch one ball for 22 yards last year in Buffalo, and Jordy Nelson was cut (and subsequently retired) after one lackluster year with the RAIDERS.

Seems like the GB GM knew what he was doing with those two guys.

Could be. Nobody knew going into the draft whether Love was any good or not and they still probably don't (Rodgers sucked in pre-season his 1st couple of years). With regard to a trade, once the draft passed then it made more sense to wait and see what happens. If AR sits then they get money toward the cap and they still can trade him. The market will also be much better with inevitable injuries and a larger pool of teams that view themselves as a QB away.

He might be talking with Rodgers, but I don't think he's understanding what Rodgers is saying. It's either that or Rodgers has told him to spin things much differently than all of his other buddies and media contacts.

Certainly, but I think between his size, athleticism, composure – that I think showed off on film – and then his ability to throw the football. Yeah, I think his game translates better to the NFL than someone like Tua…Listen, if Jordan Love was on Alabama, his stats would look a whole lot different.”

Hub and Wayne Larrivee discuss it here. Something happened during Rodger's contract negotiation. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/b ... 0522579255

Time will tell with Love, but I don't think the Packers are confident in him.

Is Chris Simms ever right about anything? I have long assumed that quoting him to bolster your opinion in an argument means that you have lost that argument.

Despite having a rep for going against expert group-think, he's been solid on QB evaluations:

2018
Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Baker Mayfield
Sam Darnold
Josh Rosen

2019
Kyler Murray
Drew Lock
Dwayne Haskins
Ryan Finley
Jarrett Stidham
Daniel Jones

2020
Joe Burrow
Justin Herbert
Jordan Love
Tua Tagovailoa

He didn't make the QB prospect ranking video for the 2017 draft class, but while he was at Bleacher Report he had came out to say that Patrick Mahomes Is 2017 NFL Draft's Most Special QB Talent

Well he had Haskins in the same slot at Love in different draft classes. So there is hope for Green Bay.

Neither did Ryan Pace.

Chris Simms 2020 Draft QB ratings: “To me, there’s a top-four that kind of stand alone,” Simms said about this year’s quarterback draft class.

Simms’ Top Five QB prospects:

1. Joe Burrow, LSU
2. Justin Herbert, Oregon
3. Jordan Love, Utah State
4. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
5. Jacob Eason, Washington

Simms (on Love): “He has good size, he’s a good athlete. He does a great job of staying in throwing position in the pocket – he’s fearless that way…He can throw it effortlessly…I think he’s a guy that has room to grow. Is he a little raw? Certainly, but I think between his size, athleticism, composure – that I think showed off on film – and then his ability to throw the football. Yeah, I think his game translates better to the NFL than someone like Tua…Listen, if Jordan Love was on Alabama, his stats would look a whole lot different.”

Is Chris Simms ever right about anything? I have long assumed that quoting him to bolster your opinion in an argument means that you have lost that argument.
Despite having a rep for going against expert group-think, he's been solid on QB evaluations:

2018
Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Baker Mayfield
Sam Darnold
Josh Rosen

2019
Kyler Murray
Drew Lock
Dwayne Haskins
Ryan Finley
Jarrett Stidham
Daniel Jones

2020
Joe Burrow
Justin Herbert
Jordan Love
Tua Tagovailoa

He didn't make the QB prospect ranking video for the 2017 draft class, but while he was at Bleacher Report he had came out to say that Patrick Mahomes Is 2017 NFL Draft's Most Special QB Talent

Are the above rankings solid?
