It’s lazy “sports talk.” And there is absolutely nothing new they can offer on the topic.

Yup, podcasts of Bears segments from Kap and Hood are the only Chicago based sports talk I do these days. You can get the stuff on WSCR anywhere, the station which used to put out solid content is just a shadow of it's former self at this point, just wonder when they will pull the plug and go to nationally syndicated content to fill in around Cub pre/post/play by play.

Reading between the lines, Rizzo was pretty clear that he's trying to knock his wife up. There hasn't been time to have sufficient studies on the impact of the various vaccines on those under 12 much less the impact on fetuses. If Mrs. Rizzo happens to be 7-8 weeks pregnant, a point where most people don't make announcements due to the risk of miscarriage, what do people want him to say?

He went on to say before the game the other day in his zoom session that he wants people to get the vaccine in general and that he's not against the vaccine.

The board typically reflects what is being discussed on sports radio—specifically the Score. So if they’re constantly harping about the vaccine, it will become a topic here as well.

I think if they dropped the subject, the board would as well. I don’t see anyone here that cares one way or another who is vaccinated or not. Well, maybe Beardown.

I had 670 on this morning as I had been listening to the Sunday Night game on the way home from a wedding. First thing I hear is how Bernsie couldn't enjoy that long at-bat by Rizzo on Friday because he knows that the havoc that the September variant strain will wreak on the un-vaccinated will kill the season...after the Cubs are buyers at the dead-line. A lot of variables there to not just enjoy something in the moment...

Rosenbloom and Spiegel had a more nuanced conversation about it over the weekend. Their angle was that perhaps Jed would trade Rizzo for a vaxxed player who would put them over the 85% (of course, they would probably need to move him to a team that was already comfortably over the threshold).

During today’s 5@5, the definitive segment of the stations highest rated show, one of the questions referred to him matter of factly as an “anti-vaxxer” and if he should still be considered the face of the organization.

It's almost as if WSCR is trying to get out of the contract with the Cubs or Cubs Mgt. is using WSCR to help it be palatable for Rizzo to go as contracts are coming up and you can't keep everyone.
