It's still the same question. They don't have billions of dollars. That's easy. They pay taxes on the billions of dollars they have pulled out of the thing that made them a billionaire. It's about something they own that had it's value increase so much that they now have something that could be sold for billions of dollars if they wanted to.

There are a lot of things not to like about Amazon. Sadly, a lot of it is consumer driven. Just look at how insane some people get when gas prices go up 30 cents. They want their cheap stuff and don't really care about anything else. Even now, it's "Arby's can't hire anyone with their offer of $11/hr! Curly fries are going to have to raise in price!".

its not just billionaires. many business owners who are successful have a deep rooted disdain for their employees. they believe no one has worked as hard as they have to build what they've built. Not all of them certainly but its a lot of them.

Apparently the plan to hire "wicked smart" managers right out of college isn't working out that well. A good friend of mine was an executive his entire career. He had a few good jobs, but the last company he was working for shut down a couple years before he hit retirement age. He went to work at Amazon just to keep him in health insurance and for a little walking around money. He's the smartest guy in the place by far. Managers come and ask him advice. The other employees prefer to ask him questions rather than going to the managers who are fucking shit up. But he's just another guy packing boxes. He can see ways to improve stuff and sometimes he mentions it, sometimes he doesn't. Once in awhile a manager will take his advice and then take credit for it. My guy doesn't care. They approached him about a management position. NOT INTERESTED. But guaranteed he could run the place a lot better than the "wicked smart" people he reports to.
