In '19 & '20 JH actually had 2 week periods he regularly hit the ball hard. Then it faded of course.
Dodgers have MLB's 4th best ERA as a staff. Second best starters. 11th best relievers.

Yeah I may be three innings before bed. Or I may stick with the Suns Clippers. I started the Bourbon as if it were Friday.

Cannot understand why pitchers throw fastballs down the middle to Baez with 1-2 counts.

Eh fuck, Sutcliffe on TV and Zaidman instead of Coomer in radio.

Time for Charley Steiner (pride of Bradley) and Rick Monday on the Dodgers radio feed.

I hope Rick is drinking.

Just throw strikes to Muncy. He will not swing at balls.

All Frank Thomas and Sutcliffe need to do is cut back on the joking around. Not totally, just some.

There was a time, 20-30 years ago that I thought Sut was pretty good. I don't think Ive heard him since the "George Clooney" incident.

ITs also possible that 20-30 years ago me liking him was pure nostalgia to my childhood imitation of his delivery.

Combined No-Hitter heading into the 9th. Just don't blow the game.

I dont understand why they dont let Davies try to get the no-hitter.

4-run lead. Stop babyin' him.

He had 94 pitches through 6 innings.

Betts only has 6 SB this year. Very odd.

And that was his 4th-ass caught-stealin' too.

Nice win, and pitching. But no hitters don't mean much anymore, they're so prevalent. J-Hey must have an angel looking down helping him with 2 cheap hit rollers to the right side. Arrieta has to be pulled early the first sign of a collapse by him tonight.

Not sure how but this cub team dominates this much better L.A. team.

I thought they would be swept by the Dodgers, good shit. Doesn't count as a no hitter. That Dodgers lineup has alot of issues though(outside of Munsy). Seager is always hurt..Bellinger is off the 'roids.

Doesn’t count as a no hitter? What do you mean?

It's a combined no hitter. Nobody really cares.

Saying no one cares is different than it doesn’t count.

It’s not a “huge” deal. But it’s cool and a highlight of the season thus far. In part, because the bullpen has been so lights out. It’s a nice accomplishment for those guys who are the collective MVPs of the season

"It doesn't count" in terms of it will not appear on the list of official no hitters/perfect games thrown in MLB. Its a fun story for a time and definitely a highlight. Its more an oddity than an accomplishment kind of.

Agreed.
I think it says more about the Dodgers lack of showing up for a game than it does the dominance of Cub pitching...and I'd say the same thing if it was the White Sox or any other team boasting the "hey our pitching staff threw a combined No-Hitter".

An aside, this is also another reason NOT to start extra innings with a runner on 2nd. For example, lets say the Cubs had 0 runs through 9 innings last night which is completely plausible. Now you're going to give a team who hasn't mustered up a hit a free baserunner in scoring position? Bunk.

It’s so odd how some people immediately feel compelled to diminish things or explain why it’s not real, as good as other things, or not entirely worth attention.

Can’t it just be a cool, fun moment and let it be the story for a day?

What’s the harm in that?

Didn't they walk like 8 guys?

A no-hitter shouldn't count if you are putting guys on every inning. What's the point?
