Gonna have to have a talk with Mr. 99.9% chance you won't ever get any water coming up from your basement shower drain if you drop the $$ on a check valve plumber guy.

Those derecho's are nothing to mess with, but tonite's probably won't be like last year's because it will be nighttime. Last year's came thru during the heat of the day and there was a lot of instability and energy in the air. That generally decreases into the night. Still best to keep an eye on the weather report and the radar.

Had to grab my friend from the train station one minute before last years derecho came through. Driving away, there were so many enormous trees dropping around us so fast i didnt even have time to be scared. Couldnt even tell which street was mine, made a wrong turn before we couldn't see anything at all and just parked in a driveway that didnt have trees near it. Waited til it passed, got out and checked the car to find a big fat log stuck in the leaf spring, and chucked it into the fresh pile of tree carnage strewn about. Turns out it was a small F1 tornado. Good times, never again please.

I really want a nice steady rain around here how. Apparently the local dickheads still think that it's the Fourth.

our power flickered but didn't go out, sometime in the middle of the night. probably, as suggested, around 3-4ish. it was dark when i got up at quarter to six, like it was still the middle of the night.

Weather alarm went off on my phone around 1:30, I got up and watched the news for about 75 minutes. It looked nasty on the radar but when the storm came over my house all we
got was about 5 minutes of wind and rain and then it was over. I didn't even get measurable rain which we need pretty badly. A lot of leaves and small branches down this morning but
that is about it. I guess we were lucky overall.

Yeah I got up too pee around 4-430 and heard a couple faint rumbles of thunder, but that was it. We had some rain, but not much. A trash can got knocked over and a few branches were down so there must have been some wind.

The storms were pretty powerful early in the evening in north/north central WI, but as I said they lost some punch as the night wore on and the air stabilized.

2:15am I heard thunder, rain, and wind.....I went back to sleep

This morning while walking the dogs, I saw a neighbor had a tree that was damaged with part of it ripped off. Ground was pretty wet so I assume we got a good amount of rain.
