I’ll golf each morning. Today is actually my 6th wedding anniversary. Best choice I’ve made in a long time getting hitched to wife #2. Going to a party tomorrow at a friends place that live right on Lake Michigan in Kenosha. Will be a bit hot and humid but close to home so I can let the dog out and get a break from anyone there I want to get away from  In the evening my wife’s boss is letting us sit in her boat in the harbor since they aren’t using it and it should be a great spot to watch the fireworks from.

What does everyone else have on tap? Hope everyone is safe with the fireworks and enjoys the weekend

I just got back from a 17 day vacation visiting various friends, so I'm staying close to home. I have to do some writing for work on Sunday and Monday, but otherwise I need to work on a "do I really need all this shit" project which I had started before I left town.

And I may risk my life to go to Costco today to get a few OTC meds plus two rotisserie chickens.

I've got second cutting hay down, might be dry by this afternoon, but more likely Sunday afternoon, if the weather holds. I'm not sure we can handle the attention of a shirtless Dr. Ken on the wagon, so I'll probably just load it myself.

I still have a wagon of first cutting in the barn awaiting loading in the mow, can't ask for much better weather to load hay than today provides.

My wife has a friend who lives adjacent to the local park where the firemen launch the community fireworks, and they offer deck space and cold beer every year, we'll likely default to there for some viewing tonight.

Traversing the lake and bar hopping. It is warm but not particularly humid in WI and very pleasant when riding on the lake with the breeze. The water is 75. Just got back from letting the dogs swim, so now it is time to hit the tiki bars.

I'm pretty sure the kids started calling ecstasy "E" by the late 90s. Catch up!

My hillbilly neighbor, the 60-year-old pot head who can't keep a janitor job, presented his annual fireworks show. Twenty-one minutes. His Mom told me he spends over $4K on the fireworks. Looked like only two small grass fires from the wind and dry conditions this year!

Got back home yesterday and took care of some outdoor stuff. We have friends coming over this afternoon so I'll be prepping the beer brats then grilling. Just doing brats and burgers plus salads and corn. After dusk we'll sit on the patio and watch fireworks from Emricson Park.

After another grueling 40hrs @ the big smile (amazon delivery station from 2am-1pm) i basically get off on "sleep pirn" for my usual 3 days off. Since 4/7ths of my week is basically Amazon, i havent been socially dynamic for a long time (see: uncle covid staying with us for a year until the scgedule change) but since their goofy 4th of july plans have ppl going in at 2am to work sort til 9am then leave, then show up tomorrow at 740 and work til 1 i decided to pick up the extra 7:40-12 shift tomorrow so i get to sleep in til 5am (srsly 4:17am is sleeping in these days) and hopefully chain up an extra 4.5 + 8 holiday + 44 regular shift and pray that the unfounded rumor of doubletime OT thru 7/31 is true.

What will i do with all tbis money? Pray i can get a proper nicklas bendtner arsenal jersey

Today I will watch people feverishly eating hot dogs, drink some beer, grill some burgers, play with the dog, and chill.

Sunrise golf and a pool party yesterday.
Outside time with the little guy and my folks, with fireworks and glow sticks after dark.
Chilling tomorrow.

I've got a full day of pulling out invasive vines ahead of me today.

Heading up to the White Mountains tomorrow.

Nah, I'm just voluntarily underemployed right now waiting for the new federal fiscal year to kick in for my industry on October 1 and for my dad's health to either stabilize or not. I had a professional conference to attend in person and a lunch meeting with a former co-worker on the way, so it was the art of self-employed business travel. After 30 years of heavy duty flying for work, I can now drive a lot more when the weather is agreeable.

I ended up spreading a bunch of fertilizer on the lawn today. Now I don't smell too good.

Fireworks show on the lakefront last night. I was shocked at how many people come to picnic and watch fireworks. I literally had to park a mile away. I’d guess 40% of the plates were from IL.

We actually had a pretty good day.

Went to our local pool for a couple hours in the morning. (Quite a few milfs frolicking around in their bathing suits gave me something to casually watch in addition to reading stuff on my phone.) Then we came home and grilled up some burgers. Took a nap and then watched the Nascar race. Lastly, we made a fire in our fire pit and had some kid-safe fireworks for our kids to play with. We also made some Rolo Smores which were a big hit. When my 11-year old daughter recaps all the fun things about the day, you know you did well as a parent.

None that came to fruition. But on the great side it sounded as if the neighborhood folks ran out of fireworks early so I could sleep early. I hate fireworks.

we have been slowly ramping up our firework game out in the country. 2019 we had 2 contributors and bought a few cakes, 2020 due to fireworks shutting down we were able to do do a bit more and this year we had about 10 contributors from a handful of farms around us and we were able to put together a pretty good show. probably about 50-60 people overall enjoyed a potluck of sorts, swimming at the pond and yard games until the sun went down.

Great day up here in the bubble. Got up and did a 12 mile gravel ride...then the Lake Bluff parade and multiple house parties. The kids and a few parents took advantage of a dunk tank. My son probably did it 100x. Many drinks. Set off a few leftover Roman candles in the back yard. Skipped the local fireworks. Passed out watching The Natural.

It was worth the hangover.
