I like a good moron vs. moron fight but why did Sheryl Ring feel she was entitled to $1 per word to write for Deadspin? A 500 word post can be farted out in about 30 minutes if you know what you're talking about, does Ring expect lawyer consultant fees for blogging? Not to mention, Julie did promote Ring's GoFundMe for getting its dinker cut off so I don't really know who to side with in this battle.

A buddy of mine was writing for Bleacher Report and was being paid $100 a month plus something like $5 per 500 clicks. He was expected to do one article per week. $1 a word seems high to me and I wonder if Dicaro didn't screw that up somehow which was why she had trouble getting paid.

This whole thing is pretty amazing. I've ignored her twitter battles but this one looks bad. It looks like she bailed (but is deleting tweets) and is using one of their writers as a human shield.

It would be a pretty disappointing existence to try to cobble together an income from guest radio hosting and dollar per word writing.

It puts into perspective that all these people you see with Twitter presences and on podcasts don't have a pot to piss in, in the real world. They influence no one but their cats
