I suppose you want the government to inspect everyone's house for safety now? How much is THAT going to cost?

Did you not get an inspection before purchasing Chet spiral?

I didn't not get one

Neither didn't I when I didn't purchase my buy.

Neither didn't I when I didn't purchase my buy.

You both shouldn’t have considered not making a different decision when you chose not opting against not doing that.

But if I didn't then I would have and that wouldn't have necessitated not doing it.

Correct, and that’s where you didn’t not make your first mistake.

At a minimum, they(each unit owner) were looking at $500 a month for the next 15 years to cover these repairs... Mind you these were not lavish residences, they started around the 200K range. I would honestly walk away from the mortgage than pay that. Who the fuck would buy a condo if you know you could get hit with that? With a house, Homeowners insurance should take care of most catastrophic repairs.

Cheap oceanside condo is a cheap oceanside condo? Shocking.

MANY are failing to consider the lack of due diligence done by the people living in these condos regarding the safety of said condos
No, but when you are told "The cheap condo you bought has major structural issues and it is going to be very expensive to fix" then you don't say "No. We aren't fixing it". These mostly seemed to be peoples secondary homes too so there isn't even the excuses that could come from truly poor people not having the ability to do it.

When purchasing a condo such as this, is there a procedure that has some form of inspection process?

Yea, when you buy a house it's a pretty standard thing and part of the process. But a condo, in an existing building? Not sure.

I am certain in the buying process you could have an engineer inspect or get most recent inspection data or structural analysis. You are buying a share of the entire building.

Inspections are being waved for new home purchases to help potential offers rise to the top.

Not sure about condos.

I'm guessing they aren't letting you inspect the structure on a condo since they may not even be doing it themselves. If they do, then they'll give you a report probably.

I bought a townhouse and the guy who did the inspection made it clear he really had no idea about the structure of the entire building because so much of it is covered up.
