So I might have done that and now I'm gonna be responsible for that. What do I do with myself?

If you don’t know Breads, then the people who you bullshitted are aware of that.

Make an act of contrition and bake cupcakes

If the employer is good, they already realized that you were bullshitting and either pass on you or offer you a job anyway and discount your bullshitting. Either way, you are fine.

If the employer is an idiot, they will be impressed and hire you, and they won't realize that you were bullshitting. You'll learn what you need to learn before they ever notice, or you just pass on the job and claim the offer isn't high enough. Either way, you are fine.

Or they just won't know the difference. You just have to be better than the last person they fired.

Sweet dreams.

I got yelled at yesterday, I had a I'm a physician dropped on me. It's quite an experience.

Hopefully I'm not in over my skies here, we'll see. Always fun!

 Fake it until you make it, Spaulding!

My mom was a bookkeeper in a bank back when they actually had bookkeepers. She interviewed for a job in the accounting department of some company. She figured it couldn't be that much different than what she was doing. The job paid about twice as much as she had ever earned before. She got the job but after a few weeks or so she realized she had no idea what the hell was going on. She went to the boss and said, "I have to apologize. I oversold myself. I have no clue what I'm doing here." The boss said, "We love you, though. You're smart. You'll catch on quickly. We'll teach you. Hang in there." But my mom just couldn't see it. I think you should take that boss's advice.

I had an old boss tell me about hiring that you can teach a competent person most things, what you really should be looking for is a personality with whom you can work 40+ hours a week.

I think there is a lot of truth to what JORR and you are saying, I'd also add dependability. Being dependable is so important. Most good bosses/managers can coach an inexperienced set of hands through the task, what they can't do is grown a second set of hands on their body to make up for some goof that is late or no showed.

I've had site managers from numerous places tell me recently about people walking off mid shift, good for you for sticking it out.

I got to work in a bread kitchen a few weeks ago with the bread baker for a few hours. I had to install some chinese or japanese humidifier so the bread would stop crusting over. He was cool and I believe he was also the owner. It was a boulangerie which I guess means french bakery or something of that sort. The bread making seemed kind of boring but people say its amazing tasting. They make a bunch of pastries there too but in another room. You could probably kill it at that place but you'd have to move to the great state of WI.

boulangerie is a French bakery where they have to produce their bread on site mostly with warm risen doughs. They sometimes make a few pastries but that's not their focus. Good stuff. If it was a smaller place I think I'd like that. I like the Elkhorn area of Wi.
