I wonder if part of the reason her colleagues have such fealty to her, beyond just journalists protecting journalists the way cops protect cops, is that she's so engrossed in Twitter that she kind of vanguards for everyone else and does stuff that journalists with higher-status jobs couldn't get away with, petty things like posting her attackers' email addresses/LinkedIns/HR department contacts and siccing her personal army of divorced dads on them. If you think about it transactionally, which is how all these freaks approach every interpersonal relationship, she doesn't really offer power, prominence, exposure, status, or any of that to anyone else -- if she "hires" you, she won't pay you. She's far more client than patron, and everyone else instead pays her in allegiance and protection.

I've got a question for Julie.

Where is this demand by the majority of women that they be in sports media? I don't see it by normal women. Only a nut job like Julie.

I've got two sisters, they never talk about this HUGE PROPLEM of no women in sports media.

As a women, is this the goal? For Julie it is. But I don't get it. Talking/writing about sports is stupid. It's a job, yes. But it's stupid for men too. It's not important. Yet this Julie feels like it's important for a women to say that LaRussa sucks rather then a man. Or that they went to the bullpen too early. Who gives a fuck who says it. Everybody says the same thing at the bar anyway. Locally, everybody at the SCORE says the same thing. They just say what Bernstein says. Nobody there is allowed to say LaRussa is a good manager because of Bernstein.

I think there are more important things that women care about rather then who gets the sideline reporting job or who reads the stupid sports updates on the air.
