I'm just going to say that I wanted both Sheets and Burger up here in May.

You can't send them down if thy are playing like this. I don't know what you do with the Eloy clock ticking and Goodwin/Hamilton being so outstanding defensively, but you find some way to make it work.

I know nobody likes to even entertain the idea of Yoan Moncada playing second base, but maybe that's what needs to happen.

it's a good problem to have. The Sox are literally going to have someone who has to go to Charlotte who would have a regular role on just about any other ballclub in the league.

I kind of love the fact that Giolito is pissed about giving up 1 run with a 10 run lead. Guy is a gamer and he has rediscovered his mojo.

Unless Yermin learns how to catch he's pretty much buried. This is the kind of thing where you want to cash some of it in at the deadline but then again, are the relievers the Sox need really going to cost that much? The way these guys have debuted plus their draft pedigree probably have their values hovering somewhere around top fifty overall prospect, depending on whether the buyer is valuing proximity to the majors.

One or both off them is going to get traded and, as Antioch said, if it brings in bullpen help, it will be worth it.

I dont think you can trade Burger with how hard he hits the ball. Guys with that kind of profile are worth keeping almost all the time.

Do you think they need bullpen help? If you do, who are they trading to get it?

But what is his launch angle? Is it Cubs-worthy?

We can clear Eloy's roster spot by giving Jake Lamb a DFA. Maybe trade Goodwin to get a bullpen arm to clear a spot of Luis when he comes back? He's playing well enough to get a decent return.

The Sox have some farm arms that teams will find attractive. They dont need a closer and they have Kopech already. It shouldn't be too expensive to get some good relievers in here and contract status is irrelevant. Nobody cares if whoever they trade for walks.

I don't think the Sox need to make a Brad Hand, Andrew Miller, Aroldis Chapman, etc. type deal. The bullpen is definitely a problem but they aren't starting from scratch.

Maybe the biggest win of the season so far.

Kopech will be used like an Andrew Miller in October and I'm here for it

Its gonna be a wild ride, Kopech hasn't always had the strongest mindset, but I agree that's the plan. They are also going to dip into the rotation, Cease will probably head to the pen for the playoffs unless someone gets hurt.

I agree that they don't need to make a Chapman type deal, but they could really use an Andrew Miller type of guy. Kopech could be used in that fashion, but they’ve been reluctant to push him all year. I'm not sure that changes in the playoffs. Also, you can never have enough qualified bullpen arms for a playoff run. You get a bunch, hope three or four of them are going well come playoff time, and use them over and over.

I’m hoping any reluctance was a recognition of the role he can play in the postseason.

If they can remind crochet that it’s ok to throw hard, that’s two potential stoppers before you get to hendriks.

If that is the case, Diamond Dallas better kick it into the next gear come playoffs.
