I didn't look all that close, but it seems like Yermin has always hit well in the minors and in winter ball.

Some shit team like the D-Backs, or Orioles should give this guy a full 600 plate appearances and see what develops.

I'm not saying that he'll replicate his minor league stats, or do what he did in April, but for the love of god he was slashing .309/.377/.655 in AAA. He's posted similar lines to that up and down his minor league career. Maybe he's a AAAA guy, but fuck, the Cubs might as well sign him and give him 600 at bats, he won't be any worse than the shit that they will have out there starting on August 1.

We don't know the story at this point. But it's possible he asked for his release to go join one of those organizations and it was denied. He'd be a good fit for the Diamondbacks as a 3rd catcher/DH/PH next year, since their first two catching spots are filled with the injured Carson Kelly and the C-CF (!) Dalton Varsho.
