It might be a rough year... or decade. We had a good run.

@ 27,000,000 per year? I love Adams and certainly hope he stays but that's a tough one to swallow for a WR1. I suppose if Rodgers' salary comes off the books it's a possibility.

Jesus, is that the number? That’s a big number, even for the best WR in the league.

Maybe Hopkins is worth that, but I don't even think he is...

Yeah I saw he wants Hopkins money. The cap is going up a lot next season...if they're creative they can probably do both. That Rodgers situation though...

PFT reporting Vegas has pulled betting lines for the Packers for this year. The books seem to think Rodgers is going to retire before Wednesday.

That would be stunning. I highly doubt he will retire this year. I would bet big money against it.

I don’t know how to embed tweets, but that is PFT’s pinned tweet currently. Draft kings, Fanduel, others pulling lines for the entire division.

Right, because he might sit out/demand a trade into the regular season. He’s not retiring

Without Rodgers and Adams GB is still gonna finish with a better record. Coaching matters.

Pretty weird that Rodgers put up with McCarthy for a fucking decade, but the Packers drafting Jordan Love is what sets him off.

Without Rodgers you guys are going to be in big trouble. He elevates that team to the same level Manning did with Indy. Our problems were on defense but that's been taken care of with the hiring of Bradley so I agree about coaching.

GB still has a good team without Rodgers. He elevates them from .500 to 13-3 when he’s right. Your team had roughly a .500 ceiling.

I would tend to agree that he wouldn't retire. The betting markets are a bad sign. Getting engaged to a celebrity makes me think anything is on the table. Those relationships always seem to result in strange behavior.

Rodgers is a strange cat. He’s had weird behavior his entire career. We can get into the rumors if we want.

He’s too attention needy to retire from the game at the height of his powers. I simply cannot see it. I would be absolutely stunned if he pulled that move.

I would have been too before he randomly mentioned that he was engaged to Shailene Woodley this offseason. Then she started to share social media posts to indicate that Aaron is being "disrespected". At the very least I think he is going to miss some games. This is stranger than his usual he's an aloof oddball guy who wants to host game shows and doesn't speak with his family.

There’s a very good chance he sits out/holds out into the regular season, perhaps all of it. I could see that easily. I can’t see him retiring. I think the GB front office is just as stubborn as he is so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. It’s impossible to guess but if I had to guess I would say he probably gets traded to an AFC team around week 6 or whatever

If anyone walks away it would be him. He's probably taken care of his money and he has a broadcasting career waiting for him. I don't know how Packer fans feel but Murphy sounds like a real fucking moron. I can definitely see that guy just making a situation worse when he should be diffusing it.

I’d bet a large amount of money right now that Rodgers won’t retire. Saying if anyone will it’s him fundamentally misunderstands who he is as a person. All of this drama is coming from Brady beating him in the NFCCG. He’s not walking away. He cares too much about how he’s viewed. He’s too competitive.

If anyone walks away it’s a guy like Cutler, who did.

Not sure how this works, but you seem to think if he “retires” it will be forever. Couldn’t he just retire for one year and come back as a free agent?

Packers own his contract for the next three years. If he did that he would just be saving GB $33M in cap space, and have to deal with the same shit a year from now

For a recent example, Gronk retired from NE. When he came back after a year gone TB had to trade for him, they couldn’t just sign him.

There’s no world where Rodgers retires this year.

Green Bay literally had all the leverage here.
