I sincerely hope that July's statement that she silently cheered for the girl pinning her son was bullshit social media posturing to shore up her woke bona fides. Regardless of whether the kid was actually pinned by a girl, she better hope that he never finds out she even pretended to cheer at him losing a contest of strength to a female.

Right. Julie's mom put a chubby girl in gymnastics at 8 years old. She did it until 14 or so. Julie calls it a career. Gotta love her.

Why does she have to put herself in the story to relate to this girl being abused by a coach? She acts like they're one in the same.

I played soccer as a kid. Throughout high school. So that was 12 years or so. I never considered it a soccer career.

I never made it to Pele's level, but I'm still dealing with the emotional fallout of that tie game against Quigley South.

I know you've said this a few times, but I don't think this is accurate. There are easily over a dozen verified journalists on twitter that she has gotten into some type of spat with, almost always regarding her being an embarrassment to the industry. Many of them are as far left as she pretends to be.

I'd be surprised if anyone at PBS knew who she was. I think her publisher is getting her on some of these shows to gain exposure for her book. She sounds impressive so probably not too difficult. Who wouldn't want a Peabody award winner to appear on their show? When they hear lawyer they're thinking like a human rights lawyer or something not a no-contest divorces and bringing her kid in for the judge to babysit lawyer.

She's the one person who unites Defector (by writing for Scab Deadspin) and Barstool (by being herself), but I still think she's pretty well-loved within the blue-check community.

I think July's relationship with Blue Checkoslovakia may be more akin to a superpower propping up a regime and treating them as equals only to further some larger goal against a different superpower. Like China and North Korea, I guess. The BC players know she's a hapless rube who causes more trouble than she's worth with her own stupidity, but she's ostensibly a Member In Good Standing of their little club, and her bona fides let her carry their larger message to places they might not otherwise get to. But as we've seen, they don't appear to actually respect her one bit, and will blast her off to the moon at the drop of a hat if it means they can get their likes/favorites/bravery commendations from it (which, IMO, isn't saying that much, because I think they are all, at their core, selfish hustlers interested only in their own dopamine release from winning the race to out-woke the person next to them).

Her kids are out of high school.
