I saw a report that the Bears are swapping late round draft picks for Miller as well. So again Pace has to give away a pick to get rid of a guy he drafted that didn't produce.

This guy sucks.

Probably, but still the Bears should be adding a pick when they are trading a guy like Miller. Simply moving up in rounds/numbers is not good enough. This isn't the first time this has happened with Pace.

Which I'm guessing is why he was traded for the spot swap, probably in round 6 or 7.

I don't think he stands much of a chance at the roster.

You trade up for this guy, and give up another draft pick and him to get a 5th?
My god. Pace man... :pukel:

Surprised they got anything for him, thought maybe they would just cut him along with Ridley and Wims. Really says more about Nagy's failure as a HC and his grab ass, accountability lacking, "be you" culture.

Miller joins the rather lengthy list of failed 1st and 2nd round WR picks. The fact that Johnny Morris still holds the franchises career receiving yards mark with only 5,059 yards is almost unfathomable given the pass friendly environment the league has featured for the past 10 years.

The playoff punch was just the last in a pretty long line of self indulgent, team harming acts by the guy. It seemed like every catch he made was followed by a taunt to the defender, even when in hurry up offense. He had bad hands. He ran poor routes. He was uncommitted to his craft. It's a shame, because he has ability.

Nagy doesn't appear to possess strong leadership skills.

Great move, considering the owner basically said last year to get this guy outta here..he probably would have been cut. Houston will probably be the worst team in the league this year, so that 5th rounder is basically the first pick 8n the 5th.

GONE!

Quote:
Former Michigan tight end Jake Butt has called it a career in the NFL.

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday night that they have placed the 26-year-old on the reserve/retired list.

Butt had a stellar collegiate career, leaving the program as the all-time leader in receptions (138) and receiving yards (1,646) among tight ends. However, he suffered a torn ACL during his final game in a Michigan uniform and struggled to stay healthy during his NFL career.

The 2017 fifth-round pick of the Denver Broncos suffered another ACL injury shortly after returning in 2018 and was limited to five games in 2020 with a hamstring injury.

Butt signed with the Chicago Bears in June. The Ohio native finishes his career with 10 catches for 90 yards in eight games.

the guy would have been a 1-2 round pick with a 10+ year career if it weren't for that injury. He was a great all around talent and could have stuck around as a good blocker even if he didn't develop as a receiver.

It's a tough sport and these guys are underpaid compared to other athletes relative to the long term impact their job has on their body

Or Dalton, making it easier to start Fields Game 1.

Don't think that Wentz is mentally tough enough to have Nick looking over his shoulder again.
