The only bit of Olympics I’ve viewed was the women’s volleyball team getting spanked by the Russians. My God they looked clueless. Not even the great coaching of Karch Kiraly could stop them from hitting every smash directly into the outstretched arms of very tall and very scary looking women.

Kiribati weightlifter was pretty good.

Most of the Olympics kinda blow until track starts and I'm charged up right up until I watched the American world champion in the 200 do one of the dumbest things you can do on a track. Pulling up early thinking he could coast only to nervously make the final. I probably will watch a quarter of what I'd planned now.

I find the 100 electric, not unlike a heavyweight championship fight.

I find all other track & field events as easily avoidable & uninteresting as the undercard matches for those fights.

How can you not love the distance events, seeing the Kenyans and Ethiopians slowly make their way to the front?

Or the steeplechase? Running and jumping into a pool of water is magnificent.
