Today he outdoes himself by comparing Nick Madrigal to Darwin Barney.

They aren't even a close comparison as their strengths are the opposite. However, he was specifically comparing their hitting ability. Nick Madrigal's career BA is 71 points higher than Barney, with similarly big disparities across the board. Even Mully was trying to reel him back in on the stupidity but he wouldn't stop.

Madrigal has All Star potential. At worst, he's a major leaguer for 15 years. It's the best trade the Cubs made at the deadline. Despite his midgetry, his OPS+ is 114.

He is just bad at his job.

And makes Mully listenable, which is no small feat.
