Being released on 7/30. Looks pretty good, might go see it opening weekend. Gotta support any non comic book movies as they seem to be on life support these days.

I read a very critical review noting it wasn’t clear how Damon’s character was allowed to pick up odd jobs given French employment law.

So keep that in mind.

He's a redneck. They are a resourceful bunch. I see no plot loophole there

You guys aren’t getting it. It sounds like he didn’t even register with the local prefecture upon arrival.

Do what you want, but I think you’re setting yourselves up for disappointment.

I hope it smashes. Please, we need an end to this capeshit domination.

It is flawed in a lot of ways, the pacing is all fucked up. I was frustrated at it for acting like a streaming television show the way it will drag out long scenes needlessly.

But, its great. The characters are really good. Abigail Breslin deserves an Oscar for absolutely pitch-perfect playing a totally contemptible self-obsessed and bratty American student abroad. Seriously, if there ever was a villain she is it. Allison is contrasted against Virginie in a way that exposes the narrowness and self-absorption of her American upbringing while Virginie is outwardly curious and capable of thinking outside her own ego. I think that might be your true theme of the film, whether they intend it or not.

Good on her for raising the film's profile. The cinema was as packed as I've seen in years.

She's also ignoring the elephant in the room which is that people were/are more interested in the story because she's hot.

The main plot and theme of the film has nothing to really do with the Amanda Knox storyline, except as a way to make the whole thing somewhat plausible and as a vehicle to expose to moral bankruptcy of Abigail Breslin's character.

so many posts, but no reviews of this movie.

Saw it this weekend, and loved it.

Great fuckin movie.

I had no idea this was gonna be a foreign film with subtitles.

Funny how the media made this out to be some kinda MAGA movie that we're supposed to hate. Thought it was going to take place in Oklahoma entirely.
This movie had NOTHING to do with MAGA or any politics at all.

It was simply a great story and movie.

And this Camille Cottin, wow, she is gorgeous.

Thought Matt Damon didnt quite fit the part. Damon is kinda a young-at-heart kinda guy, and he was trying to play a character that was supposed to be older and washed up. But still I thought he was good.

Only thing I didnt like was the PG 'sex' scene. They both still had their underwears and bras on. No nudity. They shoulda showed the nudity and them actually fucking.

hot and slutty, great combination for media whoring. she caught an std pulling a train on a train on the way to Italy, according to her tell-all book. something about wanting to break down the barriers to adulthood

Finally renting this one in Amazon. Got tired of waiting for it to get to a streaming platform and never made it to the theater for it

As good as Damon has ever been in a movie. Give him the Oscar now

Already rewatching this.

I think it may be the best movie made since Hell or High Water,

Easily one of the best movies made in the past 10 years imo. I realize that bar isnt as high as it would’ve been in the past
