You can go ahead and let this guy ride off into the sunset after this season as well.

He sucks.

I'm pretty sure he signed a one year heading into 21 but there's some arbitration available so I'm not sure he's a UFA after this season.

But this dude is at best a AAAA guy. Nice enough fella but I don't care about what you do with your coffee profits and waffle makers. You need to hit.

It's funny, the SCORE rarely gets a baseball player to be a weekly guest. But when they do, the guy sucks.

Back in the day Mac and Spiegel had Gordon Beckhem on every week when he was a .190 hitter. Dan and Leila get Happ every week this year.

And no, his power numbers aren't that good for what he's hitting like someone said in the other thread. 11 home runs isn't that great for the amount of ABs he's had.

Don’t forget 2019 Almora with Mac/Spiegs…when the guys production completely fell off a cliff

Weren't "data is god" people like Parkins & Bernstein pushing low ba guys like Happ (career 234 .334 .450 .784 106) are valuable if the rest of their slash line is good? It seems low ba guys have more of a tendency to go into season long brutal slumps than high ba guys. Happs having a poor contract year. Even a bum like Heyward played Theo for a fool with a decent Cards contract year.

Why is this hack still on the team? Would be a nice player for some softball team.

Yeah he sucks, I've seen enough.. that's why this tanking thing is horseshit.. you didn't need to lose 98 games to draft this chump in the top 5 or Almora.. could have had Walker Buehler and won 98 games that year.. same goes for Almora, Fried or Giolito Seager all available..draft smart and you're fine.

no he doesnt. Pay attention to what I said.

He is only the 6th switch-hitter in MLB history to have at 11 HR in each of his first 5 season. That's incredible.

If he has a good couple months left he can have some respectable numbers.

EXACTLY.

This tanking thing in baseball is horseshit. It was fine in 2012 because the Cubs were already a mess and had no direction. The Cardinals never traded Molina. Hell, never even traded Pujols, they just didnt re-sign him. The Reds never traded Votto. Yet they are still able to draft good players thru all the ups and downs. See Jessie Winker. Aroldis Chapman. And many others.

You can still have good draft picks even if ur a .500 team. The Dodgers win every year but they still had blue chip prospects to trade away this year.

The Braves have a good young core the last few years. This year somewhat of a down year, (.500 team), but they still BOUGHT. Soler and others. Becasue they know their core year after year can compete and give them a chance. Doesnt mean they win every year but it's possible. They didn't get down on themselves and blow it up due to one mediocre half-season.

You had Ricketts the other day saying it wont take long to be great again. He thinks 2022 or 2023. Go fuck urself. You dont even know who your next core will be. You just traded all ur studs. This will easily be a 3-4 year thing to be GREAT. If that even happens.

He stays as either a bench guy or because they are not trying in 22. He is what he is.

Sutcliffe in today's broadcast pleading w/ Happ to get his shit together. Saying look for a strike not a ball! And what does he do , strikes out looking.
