So, Mariotti will go to the Trib (a newspaper that he just said was in a dying business) and write for their website until his contract runs out? (Which was what, 2012?)

Chi-ball is off in left field on this one.

If Mariotti wants to write for a website...why not do a column on ESPN.com since he already is on a show there.

He was on Around the Horn yesterday and made mention that he'll be back soon so that could be it....

If Mariotti should be writing anything, since he's already on ESPN's "Around the Horn" getting muted by host Tony Reali, and trying to get words in edgewise with ex-Sun-Times writer J.A. Adande, the L.A. Times' Bill Plaschke, the Denver Post's Woody Paige & the Boston Globe's Bob Ryan just to name a few, why not write EXCLUSIVELY online at ESPN.com? I think Michael Smith recently left a Boston paper to write exclusively for their Web site...

Don't forget Israel Gutierrez of the Miami Herald, Jackie MacMullen of the Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News columnist Tim Cowlishaw and former Dallas Morning News columnist and current AOL sportswriter Kevin Blackistone. Also, it's been about four years or so since Michael Smith left the Boston Globe.
