The Hernandez trade will soon be seen as a steal. HUGE upgrade over Madrigal.

Left Dallas in a batter too long.

Yep! If he could get right, I would feel great about the Sox chances this post season.

you really high on a 31 year old infielder? you think he is going to just take off in his mid 30s?

He's always been a guy who could hit for average and play good defense. Now he's added some pop and he didn't cost a lot to acquire. He also won't cost a lot to retain. He's a top of the order guy too.

He's a Gold Glover who has some power. He's a nice acquisition.

Eloy should have walked on four pitches

Dallas should never pitch past the 5th

They should beat the shitty Twins if they only give up 4 runs. Especially considering they hit two home runs. Chased way too many pitches. Do miss Grandal getting on base. If Eloy, Tim and Abreu would take a few walks it would be helpful.

Hard to get excited over a guy who has accumulated a 13.3 WAR over 9 seasons. He's a stopgap, nothing more.

To me, that is more surprising than Robert being back. I thought once he had surgery he would be gone until at least Labor Day.

Also, this afternoon's game is available free on YouTube. It won't be on network TV at all.
Quote:
White Sox fans won’t find the team’s game Wednesday afternoon on NBC Sports Chicago, or any other TV or cable channel, for that matter. YouTube will carry the broadcast exclusively and for free. Go to YouTube.com/MLB or search “MLB” in the YouTube app on all smart devices. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. Central.

Matt Yallof and Bill Ripken of MLB Network will host the pregame show beginning at 11:30 a.m. Play-by-play voice Scott Braun, analyst LaTroy Hawkins and reporter Lauren Gardner will provide the game commentary. But fans can choose to listen to their team’s radio call instead.

Grandal's injury is mysterious. They won't say what tendon was operated on.

"Hey we have a really popular team who is causing people to tune in and watch. How can we rectify that?"

"Put the game on YouTube."

"BRILLIANT!"

Why is baseball always determined to shoot itself in the foot? They're like the Democratic Party of the sports world.

I'm fine with putting the game on YouTube. Not having it on local Minneapolis and Chicago affiliates seems shortsighted.

The Sox ARE getting national exposure though. Fox game vs Houston, ESPN games @Milwaukee, @KC, @Wrigley, and the Field of dreams game. The Goodwin walkoff Sunday game was also on TBS. These have all been within the last month. I'm sure they will be moved to Sunday Night at least once or twice more this season as well.

And of course, they will be televised nationally in October 8)

Rather see the bullpen day on youtube than on a nationally broadcast game.

It may be a bullpen day depending on how Lopez throws.

Not wrong there...but Lopez is the guy I want to see launched into the sun...least good option to start a bullpen day.

Lopez's stuff might actually play well in the pen. I kind of want to see what he can be there as most bullpen guys are ultimately failed starters.

If Lopez can get once through the order with 1 run or less, its a great start for him. If the Sox can give him a run or two lead to pitch with, even better.

Score runs and win today. You have to figure the pen is going to give up something, so it would be nice to see the offense alive again and put 6 or 7 on the board.
