I'm not sure that it's on the agent. Schroeder was convinced that he was worth $100 million. If you tell your agent you want $100 million and your agent tells you you aren't worth that and should take the $84 million there is a very good chance the agent will be a former agent within 24 hours. If client has massive ego and is stubborn and won't listen to reason then what benefit does agent get by trying to force him to take the $84 million?
If I'm the agent, my fee % off of $6 million is not as good as off of $84 million, but it's a lot better than % fee of zero which is what he would get if he's fired by upset client.
